Thanks Marc; I got involved with episode 11 (which filmed last October), and did progressively more work over the subsequent 2 episodes. It was a helluva lot of fun getting paid to run around and fight in armor (and I'll be doing more sword and stunt fighting training in a couple of week's time, in preparation for the next season's production). Starz said Tuesday that production has been postponed while Whitfield undergoes treatment.

According to the network, doctors say the cancer was detected in its early stages and is "very treatable."

Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and production is just on standby while they wait for his fitness to improve. I've heard, from others that have spoken to him recently, that he's doing well.

I can't decide who the biggest scumbag is in this show, there are so many to choose from. Batiatus and Lucretia are scum to the extreme. At first, it was nice seeing Lucy Lawless' jubblies all the time but her character is such a POS that I wish she would just put them away now. I really hope they die slowly when Spartacus breaks out.

Llithyia on the other hand, whoo, batcrap crazy but she can keep getting nekkid for a while longer. She makes me feel kinda funny, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class. :love

He's a sleazebag to be sure but his back alley dealings and backstabbing is nothing compared to Batiatus and Lucretia. Ashur is self centered and sleazy but then, he's a slave so he's going to do what he can to get ahead. Batiatus and Lucretia are borderline pure evil.

I can't wait till Llithyia finally gets it, I can't stand her "Valley Girl" accent!

And I swear the director tries to throw in as many topless women as he can, specially in the Arena scenes, it wouldn't be bad but some of the women... eeessssh can you put your shirts BACK on please??? I really don't want to see some of those....

I think "By Jupiter's ****" is said more in this than "**** Sucker" is in Deadwood, lol.

New TV Guide says this about the finale "It will be the bloodbath everybody wants to see" Season 2 will be called Spartacus: Vengeance. Man I Can't wait.

Ok, I'm now up to episode 6 and I'm hooked. They've really begun to develop the characters and plotlines. It's a pretty good drama/action mix I have to say. While I stand by my earlier critique of the first episode, I'm really beginning to enjoy this series for what it is.

Just finished watching the season finale and OMG.
What a fantastic show.

If you haven't decided to commit to watching this entire series yet, I highly recommend doing so.
The first several episodes start out sort of lame, but then all of a sudden it abruptly turns into being really good. Almost like they hired new writers or something.

I really hope they are able to do another season.

Man!!! This series just got better with every episode. At first I thought it was a crap 300 knock off. But, I was surprised with each episode. They are following the historical accounts fairly accurately.

I really hope Andy recovers from his cancer and can do the second season.
