Anyone else watching "Spartacus: Blood and Sand"?

I caught this in the middle of the 4th episode and I was hooked. Went back and got the first 3 and just tonight saw the 5th episode.

Holy crap is this show fun!

It's a lot like 300 in its fight scenes and style. Lots of gore, but sometimes its very cartoonish and others, its very *not* cartoonish. Lots and lots of nudity, and great characters.

If you haven't seen it, and liked "300" and "Gladiator", you might want to check it out.

I've only saw the pilot ep. so far, but I liked it. Definitely and unabashedly like "300", and it doesn't hurt that they just got Lucy Lawless out of her knickers recently too!

I think it would be better without the "300" slo-mos. I don't mind the CGI blood and green screen color and backgrounds, but seeing the action in real speed would be a bigger draw for me. I stopped watching after the second episode.

Other then that I love this show and it does build a decent story along with the carnage.

Ummmm...it IS 300. They ripped it off just a bit too much. EVERY time someone takes a blow it's in slow-mo and there is about 10 times too much CG blood. I did like some of the fight scenes. The choreographer did a good job. Some new and cool stuff.

I've watched the first couple episodes, and I'd say it might be "guilty pleasure" material, but it's pretty far from actually being good. The whole thing looks and sounds like it was written by 15-year-olds and filmed out in the garage. I loved how pretty much the entire first episode took place on the same little hill, overlooking a different green screen backdrop for each scene.

But hey, it's got lots of boobies, so how bad can it be, right?

Those who only have watched 2 episodes have no idea what you are talking about. Every episode is getting better and better. How did they cast a 7ft Albino ( i Know it's makeup), did they just put out a casting call for "One tall, ugly, Mother****er." For those of you who liked "Rome" you'll like this, I almost consider it a Spinoff.

There is a fan club? Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

I've caught it here and there, not too bad. Was a little disturbed seeing the brother from the Mummy movies tapping Lucy Lawless, I just have him type cast as the buffoon in my head...

I was expecting that as well when I saw him, but he is a cold, calculating. vicious basterd. Very different from his Mummy character and I think its a great role for him.

Lucy Lawless is still hot, Viva Bianca is *smoking* hot and the guy who played Theokoles was a nightmare.

I think it's a silly and over the top mix of Gladiator, 300, and a porno, yet I still enjoy catching it every week. Crazy show, but I love it. :thumbsup
