Anyone catch Boardwalk Empire?

New gangster show on HBO from the creators of the Sopranos and Martin Scorcese.
Takes place during prohibition.

I watched it, but dozed off at the last 15 minutes. Not because I didn't enjoy it, I was just beat from a long weekend. What I saw was great. Looking forward to the rest of this series.

I agree with you, a lot like Godfather. Overall I really enjoyed it, and it's nice to see Buschemi;). I am absolutely looking forward to seeing more.

Going to try and watch it tonight.
I've got a buddy in the second episode, so I've been wanting to follow the show.

I am really liking this series. I was hesitant to watch it in the beginning, but I'm hooked now. The writing, acting, directing, sets, etc. are all top notch.

I'm a fan of Steve Buscemi so seeing him do so well in a lead role makes me happy. I didn't know if he could pull of this sort of character. I think a part of me was thinking he'd be a smaller Tony Soprano, and I don't think that would have worked. While he has some similar traits to Tony, Steve has definitely made Nucky Thompson his own character.

Of course, it is also nice to get some history as to how some of the gangsters we associate with the era got their start. Whomever is playing the part of Al Capone has got it down. He makes you laugh while at the same time letting you know he's just as likely to shoot you as buy you a drink.

All in all, I think HBO has knocked another hit out of the park!

The Real life "Nucky" was quite a character. He did 10 years for tax Evasion, but after he got out, he lived a good life, still dressed immaculately, ate at the finest restaurants, and was treated like Royalty in Atlantic City.

"Maybe your Cunny isn't all that you think it is" Man that was a great scene. And the G-man, Holy Crap is he one F-ed up individual.

Yes indeed the FBI guy is creepy. I'm looking forward to more of the Capone,Darmody relationship...It is one of my favs up there with Sons of Anarchy
