Any update on QMX's Mal's gun?

Well, this pointless exchange could go on forever, like a Texas circle-jerk with Viagra addicts. I notice Darth Goat is here, so I am certain it will. Still can't get a date, eh D.G. ? Maybe if you wore that helmet while pretending to chug two beers simultaneously! And then there is Amish! Haven't seen you in one of these pointless exchanges in a while! It's been three or four days at least. Doubtless even more of the usual disfunctional twerps will be here shortly to hear themselves drone on endlessly... so unfortunately I've got to go deal with real life. I'm sure you'll continue blathering and wasting time just fine without me.

Stay classy Simon. Stay classy.

...... is that they’ve been doing a lot of market research to make sure that what they’re making is what everyone really wants.

Surely not still doing market research? Way past that point now or they jumped the gun going into production.

See, for average fans, the current $250 (plus shipping) is a bit pricey. But the gun they can produce for that amount isn’t as incredibly shiny as what high-end collectors want, either. QMxers are, first and foremost, collectors themselves, and they want to produce something you can put proudly on display. But they also realize cosplayers need something rough and tumble and relatively inexpensive just in case, well, you know.

So their options are to produce cheaper guns that more people can afford but won’t satisfy hardcore collectors, produce exquisitely detailed guns with moving parts that collectors will want, or some combination. Personally, I suspect we’ll be seeing a variety of available Mal replicas coming from QMx, all cast from the original weapons and priced for different markets.

Do people who've already paid know if they're getting a super shiny collectable version or a cheapo one?

I think most people would be pleased if they just stopped any further "market research" or "product development" and just supplied what they promised. If they haven't got the capital, they should borrow it.

Jeff if you don't have anything to contribute to this thread could you please stay out of it. Your days of being the high school bully have been long gone.

Alex and I have crossed swords in the past but he is right on the mark in this case. Your personal attacks on Alex and Goat are really uncalled for.

If you have some actual information about the ship dates or what's going on. By all means please participate. Otherwise please refrain from the personal attacks.

Well said Darby. I think all anyone wants is a bit more information and communication. It's really not too much to ask for. I think the real lesson to be learned here is don't release information on a potential item you are going to sell so far in advance of knowing if you can actually do it. Yes snags always happen, but again better to keep the wolves at bay and say nothing until you are certain you can deliver in a set time frame.

I think that people have a right to be angry at Qmx. They have ordered their products numerous months ago and have not even recieved any real news. Although I do admit the personal attacks fog the thread, people do have a right to be angry!

And if you cannot get a refund and used your credit card, contact the cc company and have them remove the charge.

I did this with EDC studios 8 months after a purchase that was supposedly "In stock" still had not arrived.

Got the total amount refunded.

I am new here and have been a lurker. I too ordered something from QMX, the Gold BSG Cain Dog Tags. To get a refund back from the company it tooks weeks and weeks of phone calls and E-Mails. I am sure some of you all are happy to see the Shiney new paper offerings from QMX. But to be honest when is the company going to release something else that is not paper. Again all we have is something that comes from a printing press.
