One month later. :thumbsdown
This has gotten silly. I mean how long ago did we first hear they went with a new manufacturer? Geez! So, what was that URL to Sidkit again?![]()
I cancelled my (already paid for) QMx Mal and used the cash to buy the Sidkit which is sitting on my mantle as we speak.
IF the QMx ever becomes a reality, I will more than likely buy one in the interests of as you said, showing Universal there is interest. But I will not plunk down any cash, or even put my name on a pre-order list until the pistol exists in the physical realm.
I'm darn close to cancelling my already paid for pistol too. :angry
You would think with all the experience that is behind QMX they would understand it's imperative to keep your customers informed. Especially since this was supposed to be their first major prop release.
kinda reminds me of "graflex reborn" lol
And if any of my theories above are even close to being true, the current situation/silence is not at all surprising.
Occam's razorThe simplest explanation is nearly always the actual explanation
I had forgotten about Graflex Reborn. They were also going to do an MPP Reborn as well.
:rolleyes
The simplest explanation is nearly always the actual explanation, in as much as it's easier for them to not keep making promises they can't keep. If they say nothing, they don't get dogpiled when the latest deadline goes whooshing by.
Uh... that's kinda what I was sayin' :
My theory about this whole thing (and I have no proof at all... just a slight gut tingling) is that they're now working with a large investor or corporation (like Universal) to build something big... I mean big as in "large company" and not "studio scale model". Perhaps they started out by planning to get a few things released... this big "investor" comes along bringing lots of cash/muscle/potential (as well as red tape) and that sorta jumbled the papers about, causing a bit of chaos. If such a relationship is indeed in the works (again, no proof... just a theory) they would probably hold off on announcing it until everything was set and that's what's causing it to look like they've stalled.
Not quite. My response was in reply to these comments that you also made.
That is a complicated assumption. I don't think it has anything to do with an imagined deal. I think they've just learned not to make promises they can't keep. That is the simplest and most likely scenario.
