Anti-Cyberman Gun

Today i was able to find a Max force shadow hawk 100 in a secondhand store for 50 kr. (6 dollars) It is a big ass weapon and i did not remember it being used for the Cyberman gun until i searched around for it. I thought it was cool looking and a good base rifle to build myself a Fallout plasma rifle.
:)

What gun will you choose to build with it Contec?

For the couple of people I gave the concept file too. I wouldn't use them. I think it makes the gun a bit larger in areas that are not that large.
I'm going to work of strictly what i can see In the screen grabs. and the other true prop photo's..

uh oh! watch out! sean's going to play with fire again! :lol now there's a trick Iv'e heard about along time ago. never tried It. If you want to heat bend something and have It keep it's shape. fill it with sand and plug the end's. going to give this a shot. but I have to find sand. and the dog gone parks around here only have mulch.

to the garbage bin with this trigger.

Not sturdy enough for my taste. going to make one in aluminum. scraping the styrene Idea. going back to wood and Bondo. nothing sticks to this freaking gun. tried styrene glue. tried epoxy's. roughed all the parts and still no bond worth a flip. but that's what they make screws for. I can fasten everything except those two little wires running down the side. cross that bridge when I get there.

update you this weekend laain....

Alright Guys and Girls. as I'm helping Laain make one of these rifle's. I'm figuring what the hell. may as well make one for myself.

So this Is my call. to anyone interested in this rifle. hero not the drawing. lets dissect this thing and see what we can come up with. to start. I would propose that the barrel Is some kind of acrylic tube that's been turned and the grooves cut. and smoked dark. questions. Is It possible to smoke acrylic and have a red light shine through it? can it be painted and have light shine through?

The reason I think it was turned and cut. the grove's are off..see pic.

I welcome anyone to add there thought's please....

Here you go Laain. this trigger should serve you well. have to clean it up a bit. throw some paint on It. and then Install and close this handle up for good. then I can get to the fun part. making this thing look like the picture's...

Bit of bondo. some rough sanding. soaking in some sand able primer. I want to atach this dog gone thing but not quite there yet. more sanding primer Bondo. fill that hole beneath the trigger. but thanks to mother nature. i think I'm shut down for the day...

Oh and Laain. you have your working switch. I just have to run the wire's before this Is ready to button up... enjoy

Those grooved parts in the barrel might be tinted clear resin pieces. That would be quite a job to turn an acrylic tube of that diameter, but if something ribbed was made (slightly wider than the slot), cast several times in slightly tinted clear resin and stuck in place, it would look a big turned bit of tube.

Looking at the image in your post above Sean, the piece of "tube" underneath the main lit section does look flat. I have "lovingly stolen" your image and chopped it up a bit to make my point!! :lol

Iv'e noticed that. take a good look at the outer parts also. there almost flat but not quite. just a hint of a bend...

Awesome! I love it!

I was planning on using wire tubing for covering wires for that part lol. It may not work though.

I'm not sure what you have In mind. cross that bridge when we get there. latest update.

Now I'm taking a break from this. my motel room is a freaking disaster area. and I can't take It no more. got to clean up. let you know more later....

Looking at accordion pipe tube. If your just wanting to get close to the look of the gun Laain. would not be able to have light shinning through it. and you would need 5 inch outer diameter at least. I think. I have to cut some more circle's to pin down a close size of the main barrel. I'm going to make It as easy as possible for you to Install whatever you choose for the barrel.

I will explain In as much detail as possible when I get a bit further with that part. here's the stuff I was looking at for a not so screen accurate barrel. can't use it if I build me one. but It may be suitable for you..

I haven't got to casting anything yet. not sure I ever will. but it is my belief the main barrel Is not the big In diameter. around five inches I think. possibly a pinch less. what about laser cut plexy? If that's possible. stacked like your talking about...

I don't know then. I don't know what it could be.

What the pipe? that's like a flexible plastic pipe. but it sorta has the look of the barrel. don't worry about it yet. we will find something you can use...

small update. or as I like to call. small setback. ordered some laser cut squares. 1/2 In by 1/2 In 1/8 thick. want to use them for the base of the barrel. but my circle's are 1/4 Inch. doesn't look right. and I cannot get a perfect circle on a band saw. most of you out there are probably saying. use a hole saw. and the answer there will be. I will If I can find an adjustable one that goes up to five Inches.

To do list. get some 1/8 wood. figure out how to make a perfect circle.

Still all very rough. but getting there. everything's just pined together at the moment.
