I would love a movie accurate Ant Man helmet. Probably one of my favorite designs from Marvel.

Yeah, I'm liking the design better for the Ant Man lid better than the others, too. I like how there's no lights in the eyes, seems this will be a bit more practical to wear than Iron Man helmets.

It looks to me like the crown of his head should be rounded more. Otherwise it's looking great.

Alright, made some adjustments to the model, still isn't quite perfect, but hoping I can clean it up after the print stage. What do you guys think?

My printer is FINALLY done (for now) with it's upgrades, and spat out it's first really good print in a while.


More and more and more and more and more printing to come! Stay tuned!

Main helmet is finished printing!



Obviously there is a lot of cleanup/adjusting that needs to be done, as this is just the raw print loosely held together.

Starting on the mouthpiece now though!

Starting to look like an ant!



Ah the miracle of good 3d printing preparation software! The side pieces are snap-fit to the outside of the helmet. So when I start making my kits, assembly will be a "snap"!! I'm looking to make this a mostly no glue required kit. The only place where glue will be required is the lenses, hopefully.

The bad news is my printer host decided to crash with around an hour left on the mouth print. BOO! But nothing a little soldering on the inside can't fix.

Had this happen once or twice myself. Since it stops along the z axis, I use digital calipers to tell exactly how much needs to be printed still, then cut along the z axis for that amount.

But..........you probably already knew that.

Progress looks killer! Can't wait to get one of these kits in my hands.
