Ant-Man 2015 Helmet

HI all, finally got one of these finished and painted up to show off!

The process was long and arduous, but I made it!

Check it out and let me know what you guys think!

P.S. - I have to let you know that these are in fact for sale in the JY, but all sales questions should be directed there




The model was painted in Alclad Dark Aluminum, black automotive primer, and duplicator chrysler red. Then I went over it with a black wash, then hand brushed wear and tear, and then finally back with a nail file with sprayed on chrome paint for the brushed metal look.

Hi all!

Trying to get this guy modeled up. I still have a long way to go in terms of learning my programs, but I think it's coming out pretty good so far!

I'll be 3d printing this and selling casts in the JY when I'm done, I'll make an interest thread there soon once the model is done, but just thought I'd share how it's coming along for now!

For this I'm using 3ds Max. I'm working on learning zbrush too, so stay tuned for that!

i would love to see a foam pepakura file for this
there are none around at this point
im sure they'll come as soon as the first trailer is released for ant man
for now all i can do is wait haha

I think he's done! Going to try to print out an 8x8x8 copy to test out if there are any issues with the file soon!

Fantastic work! I'm currently hunting for fabric for the costume. Can't wait for the trailer so we can see more of the costume. Looking forward to seeing it printed as well. You can definitely add me to the list of customers for the kits.

Not bad, one thing tho - try using cycles render engine with global illumination as well, not just lamps ^^.

Hey guys! Just checking in! Project is still going! My printer is being a little baby and not wanting to work all of the time...but I think I've got her squared away.

Helmet is roughly 10 parts at 20 hours a piece! YIKES!

Hey brother, I'm curious about something. What's your plan for the lenses? You gonna vacuuform them, or make casts in clear tinted resin?

Thinking about doing thin pieces of clear red plastic cut, heated, and formed.
