Got the mouth finished printing, but I'm not sure I'm happy with it. I think it needs to be recessed a little more closer to the mouth, and I don't think the shape of the mouth part is quite accurate. I think I'm going to redo it and reprint it, which is the miracle of "rapid" prototyping!!!

What do you guys think?

Alright. Well, I decided to basically start from scratch on the model now that I have some higher res reference. Soooooooooo yeah. Shouldn't take all that long though, and I have PLENTY of filament

Haha. Not entirely I suppose. Going to "borrow" some parts from v1. But v1 was only about 80% accurate. My modeling efficiency is great now, and now that my printer is working well again, I should have it done printing by the end of next week

Quick update!

Got about 30% of the new helmet done, and it is already WAAAAY more accurate than the old one. I guarantee this will be a helmet I can truly be proud of, and one that the buyers of the casts can be happy with!

Awesome! Glad to hear it!
Good luck in the Antman race! Like you there's a few others are doing an Antman Helmet run. I'm definately keeping an eye on this one!

Well this should set me back...

My hard drive in my modeling computer crapped out, and I am unable to retrieve any of my data....looks like I'll be starting for real from scratch now.....:angry

I found a previous version of the helmet before V1 was completed on my computer's old hard drive! I can do this!!!!!

I'm loving your progress on this. I'm just posting to be a noodge about the title -- Ant Man is Phase 2. That said, I think you're gonna have this thing nailed well before the premiere.

[ETA: Don't know who's read this already, so I'm not going to just delete the above. I'm an idiot and I can accept when I goof. I got the release dates backwards -- I thought Ant Man was coming out in May and Age of Ultron in July. You're right. Ant Man is Phase 3. I'm gonna go shut up now. :facepalm ]

The final version of my Ant Man helmet! I will start printing him tonight, and hope to have him ready for casting soon!

Alright folks, got the first part of the V2 helmet printed out! I may have to re print the eyes, but that's alright because I designed them for that to be ok.

I've still got some support material to clean up, but here it is! Starting printing on the new mouth today!
