Anovos Stormtrooper.... thoughts?

Man this thread is getting nasty and unproductive...

I've been into this hobby for about 8 years now. I don't have many pieces because of my budget, but I am always researching.

I jumped on this preorder because wanting a TK is what brought me into this hobby and I could finally afford a kit that looked halfway decent. For about $550/600 all in (boots and resin blaster) I could get something I always wanted.

If the kit is crummy, I'll be really disappointed, but I will still build the damn thing and enjoy it. If it looks good, all the better!

I won't be intimidated by the heavies on the board or try and disrupt 501st events in it.

Can't we all just get along?

Because only people who have a vested interest in there own armor. the same people who go out of there way to explain why there armor is superior when no own asked or even care, for that matter. the only people who will point out the how much the Anovos is not like the true elitist armor are the people who really do not matter. I will proudly wear this armor for the general public who will be blown away by it and that will be 99.9% of the world population. so what if it does not impress the .1%

LOL you should by my armor for $2,000 so you will get the nod from the 3 other people at the con who have the true armor.

GF Maybe you should create a certificate of authenticity people can tape to the good armor so the general public wont be fooled by knock offs oh wait you can't your not licensed by lucas like Anovos.

The general public are blown away with a rubies and cant tell the difference between good and bad, I want to impress the people who know their stuff not the general public, though I love Stormtroopers I always wear my Spidey costume at events and need to look perfect to my eyes first and second the public not the other way around, like I said not everyone as the same standards and many don't need much to be impressed.

Maybe I should start a new group 502 and you have to have a licensed Lucasfilm replica to be a member. we can all troop together with our knock offs

Thank you !! That's really helpful and I see what you mean. I knew about the squashed look, I guess I just don't have an eye for it yet. Side by side, it's glaringly obvious that the ROTJ is odd looking. It's easier with the armor as it's so different!

Look im not trying to **** you off I actually like you a lot. Im just stating you should treat every one equally and not snub people. There will always be a market for your armor. I would like to have a set I just dont have the time for to many projects im a system admin most of the day im writing power shell scripts the little time I do have I spend with my grandson. I buy and make the stuff to do things with him I just finished his jawa costume it might not be 100% cannon but he will think im the coolest grandpa

its not the comments on the armor its the treating people like there inferior because they may not posses the knowledge you have. there are many things I do not know and things im an expert at I never snub people because I know something they do not.

Maybe there are people out there who don´t even care? They are only Stormies, not existing plastic spacemen from a fictive movie.

I don´t even understand the wish of adults to costume, i just accept it (OK, with a irritated smile). And around 90% of the costumed i see only look one thing -> wrong.

I just want a display piece that i like to look at without feeling the need to vomit. Know what? Mine will keep his double riveted holster, and probably have a comlink and grappling hook added. :lol

I'm kinda sorry that I posted that picture earlier. It may just be a display piece that not indicative of Anovos product, I don't know! Like I said many times, this is all speculations until someone has had the armor in their hands...

GF, thanks for voicing your opinions! To be honest, I dismissed the ROTJ armor as something that did not interest me, so I haven't been researched that as much as say, how to assemble a TK and what is screen accurate and what isn't.

Most of us here don't have years of knowledge on the matter like you and some others here. So thanks for pointing things out that may be obvious for you but not so much for us.

Now, maybe you're, uh, rough around the edges? [emoji12]

But you know, I learned a few things from you and BTW your collection is fantastic so I welcome the opportunity to learn from you and other people here.

In the end though, I guess we are all entitled to our own opinion. Some of us come on boards like these hoping to learn more, others search for validation, others want to criticize and you know, sometimes we clash because of that. In the end, we all share that passion for this stuff and that's neat that we can share, talk and compare in a place like this.

Not gonna happen. Rogue one is already in production. There have already been photos from the set leaked of actors in Stormtrooper armor.

It seems to me because these will be such great quality people are starting to feel less special in there elite group. it will be awesome if these are used for the next film then all will be squashed. I'm just so happy I can be a real storm trooper now like gf and everyone else and I did not have to pay $2,000

Funny how you can tell just from looking at their shoulder bells that these are completely different sculpts than the original trilogy troopers. These look very symmetrical as far as the sculpt for the armor goes. Most likely idealized through computer software and then printed like they did with Vader on ROTS.

Looks like they made the Rogue One troopers a bit roomier in addition to being more symmetrical.
