Anovos Stormtrooper.... thoughts?

man so bummed that I missed on that pre-order deal for $350 .... :( if anyone wants to go out .. please let me know :p

Anovos Update #4 came out October 31. They still say they are on target for deliveries, with a first ordered - first shipped schedule. Keeping my fingers crossed I get both sets of parts by early December. I'm a bit confused and worried by the one "actual part" picture that was posted. It looks to be the front abdomen / groin plate. The details don't look like anything that I recognize from other TK suits. And it does not even match their own picture at the top of their email. Does anyone have an explanation or a guess?

Lol! It has started. I knew people would think something was up. Much like when people first realize Vader isn't entirely black.

The "buttons" you see on a TK's ab are a separate piece that's glued on top. What you see there is the sandtrooper configuration, difference being the absence of the said plate and a different knee/sniper plate...

I'd recommend TM any day over this "hope you get it" type of set.TM is pricey, but you def get what you pay for.

Thanks, I was thinking it was something like that. I'm no TK expert so I don't know all the variations and history of the suits. Layering makes since for vacuum formed parts, but it just didn't look right for aligning glue on parts. I didn't want to start a big issue, but was confident someone could set my mind to ease. By the way, I also had to re-register my account credentials, and found that both of my orders are in the computer, and status is UNFULFILLED as expected.

Just for curiosity sake, I have Order # 580X and # 702X. (X for security) What's the highest Order Number does anyone have? I wonder how many units they have pre-sold. But Anovos order number system is probably sequential and includes their whole product line, so no real way to tell how many are exclusively TK orders.

I'm in the 603x and I ordered on April 18... I guess we can say they got a crap ton of order!!!

The Anovos set looks very nice so far and for the deal I got, I'm willing to wait... If not for the sweet preorder price, I never would've ordered. 1000$ for a set a plastic parts is a psychological barrier I was not willing to pass! While I know I'll bust the 1000$ mark for to complete it(in fact I already did) this deal got me into considering trooping...

i definitely understand.guess we won't know until they release the goods. What happens most often with bargains in costuming equates to idealizing and compromising the details and quality. The RS and TM gear is hella expensive. No denial there.

I definately hope for some idealizing.
Not toooo much, but enough to make my eyes don't hurt anymore.

The original is way to shabby, it's a shame.

#624X , ordered Apr. 17th at 2:18 PM

Interesting, I'm order #625X placed Apr 17th at 3:08 PM. If their orders are genuinely numerically sequential then they sold over 6,250 suits in the first 5 days. A crap ton it is!

Lol, no way dude! It's more logical that these are numbers based on the total amount of every single order Anovos has put through for every franchise.

That's true! They're dealing with hundreds if not a couple thousands of these trooper orders. But remember, this isn't your regular mom and pop hobby shop. They're working with a factory overseas pumping these out professionally!

So I wouldn't be intimidated by the numbers :)
