Anovos Protest

If I was going to Celebration and wanted to address my issues with Anovos, I wouldn’t just boo. Most people at the panel won’t know why you’re booing, and you’ll be seen as the problem, not the victim. I also wouldn’t have any sort of long, ranting sort of comment/question that would yield similar results, and would probably not offer enough explanation to those in attendance who haven’t had the kinds of issues many of us have experienced first-hand. Remember, outside of forums like this, there’s pretty much just Facebook, where all negative comments seem to get deleted.

I’d ask one of two questions. Very simple questions that make it clear there are issues, without making me seem unreasonable. They would be:

1: When can I expect to receive the refund I requested back in January, and why has it taken 3 months?

2: Why do you keep deleting my comments on your Facebook page when I ask about #1?

^what I find remarkable about that refund-laws-by-state list is how little protection there is for the consumer.

I was a financial crimes and robbery investigator for many years, and the one tool I learned the consumer had at their hands early on was the civil court filing. Businesses do not like to show up in court and will settle out of court if they can avoid it at all costs. It’s why in this thread or another I said a civil court filing only costs between about $30 and $136 or so, give or take a few bucks. As long as the consumer has done their homework, has everything they need to prove their case, it’s an easy fix because you’re right, the consumer protection laws are very backwards.

I always use this as a last resort.

I actually have a filing against Sinemia. Last time it was DELL. Time before that, Geico.

They must think it's BS when I tell them to expect a lawsuit. They probably still think I'm BSing when I ask for their attorney address for my process server

Don’t let them slide. And you should do the same to EFX when you see them. 6 years for a biker scout helmet that doesn’t even close?!

With all due respect to the guy wearing the shirt, I mean, good for him for expressing himself, but one guy in a shirt? Was that the extent of the protest?

Right? I feel like the entire weekend has been spent by people talking about protesting, but not anybody actually protesting.

No, I had a friend who messaged me asking what company was it that was ripping people off. I told him briefly both EFX and Anovos. He laughed and said oh that makes total sense "I've walked by the Anovos booth at least a dozen times and EVERY SINGLE time I walk by someone is asking them where their money is or when they're getting a refund."

I am a regular to many Star Wars collectible websites and Facebook pages. It is very strange the lack of coverage Anovos is getting. Also, no one has posted any coverage of the collectibles panel at these places as well. Sometimes this stuff gets posted after the convention but it usually is because the info or items shown are lack luster.

Same! I also am amazed. Even their own webpages and social media sites aren’t as... robust as they usually are.

As for the one guy with a shirt? Even one man’s silent protest can make a difference.
