ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

By the way - there are people here who know more about what is going on with Anovos than they are saying.

I hold it to be high time that you, whoever you are, fully betray that knowledge to this thread or consider yourself complicit in the way they treat fans and customers.

Okay - I keep saying I am trying to stay away because I cannot believe the state of anger this brings me to. It can be paralyzing to the rest of my day.

I will try again.
Dude, try to relax :)

We share your frustration, trust me. But it's not worth increasing your blood pressure over this.

This will get resolved, we all will have learned some valuable lessons along the way, and move on to more fun and interesting things.

;)

For what it's worth, I got a response to a message I sent a couple weeks ago asking about a couple of the jackets due in Q3. The Solo TFA jackets are "confirmed that they are complete and awaiting inspection, approval, and shipment to our warehouse facility " and will apparently ship some time after Oct 1st. The TNG Picard Darmok jacket will ship after the Solo jacket.

(They also confirmed a question I had about the material in the TNG Premiere uniforms, unrelated to any orders.)

So, we'll see if they come through this time with the Solo TFA at least. Unless I remember incorrectly, that jacket is the first they will have done in all-leather, so IF they can finally deliver that successfully it'll be a sign that things are improving.

Seriously. I think some people would be less angry if they were just straight up robbed.
I can definitely understand it though, and sympathize. I don't have any outstanding orders, but I think I'd be climbing the walls if I'd shelled out several hundred for an item then had to wait multiple years only to get a big fat silence from the other end about it. At least with being robbed you know the money is gone and can move on. With things like this it's more like being robbed but the thief calls you once a year to promise that he's still got your stuff and he's on his way over to give it back just as soon as he can get the flat changed on his car.

Maybe the best advice is to just kiss the money goodbye and forget about it. You will be happier.

But I imagine it's hard, especially when you still get emails from them offering new specials.

Isn't this what they kept on saying about the Kylo Ren outfit for a couple years until they finally came clean about what was going on with it. I'll believe it when I actually some people receive them.

I haven't followed the entire Kylo controversy, but it was something like that, yeah. They jumped the gun on declaring them 'ready'. The "awaiting inspection" part of the quote is, I would guess, them leaving an out, in case of another screwup somewhere. This time though, compared to the Kylo debacle, they have a lot more heat on their shoulders, so I hope they are a little more cautious about what they say. I'm not holding my breath either, but am willing to give them this final chance to prove they are making things right.

Agreed - get it right, like the early days (and I mean like they did with the 2013 Galactica and TOS Command Gold soft goods)...

Yep, standard canned response/update on their part.

When people and I mean more than a handful start posting they have these in their hand, then they have finally done ONE thing right in getting it out the door:rolleyes:

The TOS Tunic, material and dye wise, are the easiest thing to do.

Others were doing them before they took that on

Apollo, that is true. It was our first order with Anovos, and I was happy with the BSG double tanks, and my wife liked the TOS Command gold dress. That initial purchase was for halloween only, before we joined a few legions, and took steps into a larger world. Yes there are different makers out there, and we made our own costumes back in the day, years before this forum existed, or Anovos. Its beyond disappointing, after reviewing the beginning of this thread, and the state of what is happening, today. If this gets fixed, good for them. If not, its a lesson learned, beyond the 'no more preorder rule' I have put in place for myself.

Yeah I was their biggest fan for a while, their first run of the Kirk wrap-around was beautifully done as well as their 3 rd Season Command Tunic which so closely matched Various Screen-used ones I have had in my collection.

Sad to see that they got to big and could’nt handle the responsibility of running such a large business.

What is not sad is when they had many chances to do the right thing they did’nt

I have TNG Shirt as well as DS9/Voyager undershirt/overshirt combos. Also rank pips. And a han solo belt. Maybe the saddest part is that when they do deliver the quality actually is pretty good. I'm betting that only makes it more frustrating: knowing that if by some miracle it ever does get delivered, odds are you'll probably be happy with it.

For what it's worth, they said this exact same thing one year ago...

Yes, over and over, word for word.
First it's "Final approvals and at our fulfillment center soon", next will be it's "On the Ship and will be shipping to customers soon".
Then more delays and no response and in 8-12 months the same carp over and over.

I honestly think it's a canned response they just click on because they are word for word to everybody.

Google even makes a template for Reggie so he can continue doing absolutely nothing to help customers.

Yeah, I have that e-mail too. If you want to nitpick (which, I'm sure Anovos very well might) they didn't actually "confirm" that they were "finished" like they did this time. That aside, I didn't say I actually believe it- just that I'm willing to wait a few weeks to see if it's yet more BS before I decide to jump on the law suit/chargeback bandwagon.

If they really did make a big push to get their act together due to the Celebration ruckus, then it's not an unreasonable amount of time it would take to do so... it's not something that's gonna get cleared up in a few weeks or a couple months. I reckon they'll be playing catch-up for at least a year or two with their entire backlog of delays. But with the latest product estimates, they're essentially drawing their own lines in the sand. It's their final, very weak, leg to stand on.

Well, I did get a rather long response to a question I had that wasn't related to an order, and it was very specific, so that part was definitely not canned.

(And it wasn't Reggie that answered.)

It's been two months since the last Kylo update. Do you think the new manufacturer has figured out how to solve their coating issues?

Great to see the discussion staying at the top of RPF. Always.

IF any of us get our remaining orders it will be well after the sequel trilogy, and surrounding events, have passed.

A note: Part of this mess is the "uber" and "air bnb" mindset in my opinion. Folks are all too eager to use such services and then force other companies (companies that have actual oversight) to compete. I never use these things and, if it means I don't travel, then I don't travel. But this modern, uber-ride-mindset is being adopted by companies, like Anovos, who are using "uber" manufacturing.

If you can't afford kids, don't have a family. You lose. It's that simple. Read a damn book. Or don't complain or ask for help if your kids are abused at daycare.

Not being able to afford the best childcare, makes you culpable for child abuse, and you have to essentially suck it up!!!

There are no words to describe the ignorance of that...

Good luck to you with Anovos, but i'm certainly not going to be reading any more of your rants.

That's true - And I considered it when I posted it. But I agree... Still remains to be seen if they really are finished. Looking forward to what might arrive in October but not holding my breath.

BTW - Didn't Reggie leave Anovos or was that some other well known account handler?

Cheers
Steve
