Depends on the item. Anovos has a history of bad QC; such as the Phasma helmets arriving with cracked finishes, their cheaper TFA Stormtrooper helmet arriving with huge gaps and overall cheap materials/construction, helmets arriving cracked, missing parts, etc.
 
To each their own, but I would never willingly pay hard earned cash and then wait for several years for an item to be delivered. Especially for an officially licensed product. It's one thing to have to wait several months on a run from an individual maker, but YEARS? C'mon! I don't care how good the product is. It's the equivalent to giving out an interest free loan to a company in the hopes that you get what you paid for. That's not right by my standards, even if it is built into their business model.

Individuals get blacklisted from communities like this and often banned for not delivering and feeding customers empty promises, but again, because they do make a good product and they have the official license, and several of the founding members of Anovos are members here, and they get a pass? Whether Disney is keeping them from divulging certain information from the customers is irrelevant. It's a matter of treating paying customers with respect.

Sorry, but I can't wrap my head around justifying any of that.
 
I said this in another thread. I will never pre-order from them again and if that means I miss out on something then so be it. The only way I'm going to buy any of their products is if they are already in stock or from a reseller that you don't have to pay until they are ready to ship it to you.

Me too. I’ve learned my lesson. Foolishly I ordered the General Merrick X-Wing Helmet when it was imminent a year ago - and despite it effectively just being a paint job on the Rey X-Wing it keeps being pushed out into the next quarter.

I have a sneaking suspicion we'll hit February and then Anovos will say it’s been pushed into Spring/Early Summer .....and so on.

Never again!

You really need to do more research as just reading these posts in this thread certainly does not give one the big picture.

Anovos has had their share of defective merchandise that should not have even been put in a box yet alone shipped to a customer


. But I've read every page of this thread since I joined. Over 4500 posts and nothing has changed significantly. But I have read several times on this thread, that when they do receive their item, they're extremely happy and even mention 'it was worth the wait" .

There are some people in the Knights of Ren FB group that have gotten refunds but it took A LOT of persistence. I think I even heard one or two of the people getting Disney licensing involved to get it processed.

Here's my experience with their refund process:

I ordered the Kylo Ren Standard Ensemble and the premier line helmet on March 2, 2018. Before I even placed the order, I sent a message to their customer service and confirmed that the Kylo Ensemble would indeed ship later that month. Samantha from customer service assured me that it would.

Great, pulled the trigger and ordered figuring I would see it about 3-6 weeks later since my order would be far down on the list for fulfillment.

Obviously, they never shipped.

Here is my first issue with Anovos with this transaction, I purchased based on the misinformation that I received from their customer service. If they would have been honest, I may have still ordered but they never gave me the opportunity to make that decision.

Went through the rest of Spring and Summer and of course, more missed ship windows.

Back in September I decided that I would just get a refund and go with a different maker. Requested a refund and that started a round of "following up" and "I don't understand why they aren't processing your refund..."

I got onto Anovos chat and I asked them, "Be honest, what are the chances that you will ship by the end of the Summer season?"

The person answered, "I honestly feel very good about it. It may not ship by the date but should very shortly after."

Ok, so I kept the order and decided that with all of the running around I was getting, I would just keep the order and wait it out as it sounded like I was weeks away from having the officially licensed Kylo Ren that I wanted.

As we know, that wasn't accurate either. Starting to see a pattern here.....

I can't decide if Anovos is being intentionally dishonest to save their business or if they honestly think that they are going to be hitting these dates and then they are as surprised as the rest of us when the product doesn't ship.

Either way, it's no way to run a business.

I don't necessarily subscribe to the "Disney is controlling all communications" idea because I can't imagine that Disney would be instructing their license holders to lie to their customers about shipping windows and availability.

And here we are today, zeroing in on the end of the Fall season, no updates, no accountability to the people that they have been stringing along.

They will fail if they don't fix their communication, just a matter of time. I am hoping that they get it together and start conducting their business in an ethical manner as I want them to succeed. The guys running it are fans, just like us, and I don't think they are shady or trying to take advantage of the community. Hopefully they read through this thread and get some honest feedback for how to improve.

This line made me laugh. These guys have done everything contrary to this statement.
Refusal to give refunds unless you hound them for months
For awhile they stopped giving refunds (just store credit) until people complained enough
Bad QC
Outright lying about shipping times with preorders
Will say it's going to ship by this month, oh wait I mean this month, oh wait I mean this month.... (repeat forever) and years go by with no product shipped
Outright lying and excuses about why they can't give updates (have personally worked for Disney/LFL and the no update things is crap)
They have a completed Kylo costume for ABCNews to wear at Celebration Orlando but claim they are no where near ready to ship to the many customers that have been waiting for years.
 
On the hook for $2100 after I feel like I was lied to. Not happy for that at all.

I guess I am hopelessly optimistic about the nature of people. Inexcusable about refunds. Inexcusable about how they can't seem to find it in themselves to offer an honest update.

For me it comes down to are they intentionally being ****** or do they have the best intentions of getting things delivered but they can't get it across the finish line.

Not sure which one it is but I want to believe they are trying hard and just running into problems. At this point, all I can do it hope for the best and see what happens. Not discounting any of the other horror stories here, just offering my perspective.

Just stating what I observed that has been posted here. The fact that people complained about the long wait(not quality), and the same people that complained, when the item arrived, they were so happy and forgot about the wait. And that it was worth the wait. Funny really...
As I mentioned before, my little insignificant post was really meant to be a pick me up.

If Anovos was in their first year of business, I think "growing pains" would be a reasonable option.
After 3 yrs alone in producing SW products and it's only getting worse as time goes on; I think now they are being intentionally ****** and like many bad sellers just see the community as a cash register.
 
Anovos is such a Ponzi scheme. I am so glad I never ordered anything from them. And I never will.
 
Funny, I was born and raised in Los Angeles and it has been a crack up seeing some of these delusional cow country f's move in here and try to mingle.

Oh, off topic - sorry - send out our f gd merchandise!!!! THERE IS NO REALITY THEY ARE DEALING WITH THAT TAKES YEARS.
 
ANOVOS has disappointed me only slightly less than TLJ and SOLO (for those of you who know me, know that's still bad). The only good thing is they have zero of my funds because I refuse to purchase from them due to their complete inability to deliver. I'd rather pay a premium mark-up and buy from someone on the secondary market than ever send them a dime and wait.....and wait......and wait........

It's companies like this and how they operate that kills me. So many were oh so excited when we heard the news that they had the license, and look what it turned in to. So sad....
