ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

I was 5 when I first saw the Star Wars movies. It was a time of scarce collectables and fading space sagas. I still remember my mother putting on the VHSs for us to watch as my twin brother and I would stack our toys around like they were the Millennium Falcon--and played along with each scene as the movies blared on in the background. He was the dashing rogue Han Solo and I was the youthful adventurous hero Luke Skywalker. As children we dreamed of collectables of yesteryear to fulfill that voided excitement, adventure, and fun in our hearts. Who knew that it would all return one day?! And now today that dream has come true yet again! After 2.5 years of waiting, Luke Skywalker's Bespin Battle Fatigues have finally arrived and were recreated directly from the originals in the LucasFilm archives! I look and feel just like Luke Skywalker appeared in The Empire Strikes Back, my all-time-favorite of the series! Though it was quite a worrisome and timely wait, I understand the frustration and processes and procedures that are gone through with theses licenses having worked with them myself for many years now. My investment has finally paid off...I can honestly say it was all worth it now that this dream-come-true is finally in my hands! Thank you Anovos, and may the force be with you!

Looks awesome! I too have the same experience. However, I canceled my order due to how long it was taking. I guess good things do come to those who wait. I just couldn't wait any longer so kudos to you for being more patient.

It looks great on you but is it really that dark of a tan/Brown color or is it the lighting? I ask because it looked a lot lighter on ANOVOS's order page and frankly, yours looks a ton better!

Me too - I would have ordered a number of them if I could have found some form of guarantee over WHEN they would arrive.

The frustrating is the Premium FO Stormtrooper was released a year ago for the 501st (I should have got one but missed the offer), so I'm not sure what the difference is if any for the 'non 501st' version. They come up on ebay quite often with the same seller apparently having stocks!

Cheers

Jez

Sounds like it's worth the wait this time - by all accounts the 501st versions were a giant PIA to assemble, and solving some of those issues is what Anovos has been up to with that suit.

@BATSNIKT, even in the natural light it looks fantastic!

Agreed, it looks and feels so much as if Lucasfilm had produced it right out of the film from 1980! I remember growing up wanting one of the Luke Bespin jackets they used to offer back in the 80s from the Star Wars insider/fan club, so I held on to this new hope (Anovos) and resisted the darkside of cancelling--as much as I was tempted. The accuracy, detail, and stitch for stitch recreation really brings out the fanboy/kid in all of us Luke Skywalker fans! I turned into a giant man-child when I put it on last night, and my fiancé was having a good laugh with me about it.

D*mn that 80s filter effect. Forget Bespin Luke. Saw the pic and immediately thought " Why is Dune-Kyle MacLachlan in the Anovos thread"?
Cool pic Dude. Glad you got yours and are happy with the results.

I got two full and one helmet orders in. Hopefully by end of year.
Gonna hesitate on TFA product with these payment changes and production delays.

Can anyone give me some guidance on TK boots? I am wondering the best maker and if the US sizes are about right. Its hard for me to order footwear online because I wear a 9.5 but can often find 9 and 10 shoes that fit. I appreciate any help.

There is the really official maker who sells boots for $80 and they are really good. I have a pair but I forgot the website right now but I'm sure someone will chime in on that.

There is also a boot that is pretty close but not 100% accurate on Amazon. They are not very expensive ($45) and you could buy both sizes that are close to you and return the ones the ones that don't fit the best since it's easy to return stuff on Amazon.

Those boots on Amazon will already give you an issue on basic approval. They have a seam on the front and the CRL stats "no seam". Just in case you are going for basic approval. ;-)
TKBoots (totalkillerboots) are true to the size, same for Imperial Boots, but like you said they have no half sizes. So what about getting them in 10 and put some inlays in them if needed.
I have size 7 and got size 7 TKBoots. They fit perfect, but having a wide foot 8 would have done too. just my 2c....
