ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

The Mando helmet is the first for Anovos in their Texas facility. We have no idea what the experience level is of the people finishing the helmets. There may be a learning curve for the individuals and the processes of the facility.

I'm not trying to justify some of the issues getting through and being shipped to customers, but hopefully this will result in changes to their procedures to improve quality control. It's a very different situation than having a helmet built by a factory in China that has been doing similar work for many years.

That would be major BS on their part if thats true. For their reputation and asking price they need to recruit experts in prop making. Its not fair to customers paying over $700 just ro revieve a piece practiced on.

I have no idea what the requirements were, but there is a learning curve when working on new projects even for people with lots of experience. Someone great at making a clean helmet like the Royal Guard may not be used to doing weathering. Someone with lots of experience making dirty, beat up helmets may not have much experience with clean, pristine helmets.

I don't know if there would be much talent like this available in Texas. I don't think it is a hotbed for prop makers.

That would be great although who in their right mind would work for this crooked company? I mean the lack of business ethics to begin with is just filthy.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I live in DFW and some of the BEST talent I’ve seen comes from the Dallas area.
Interesting. Do they make props for a living? I was just thinking there isn't much as far as film and TV production around there, but that could be totally incorrect.

I don't know if professional prop builders would be interested in working for a costume company or not. They may be in the area but not necessarily interested in working for Anovos. There's lots of reasons someone with the skills may not want the job. The amount of pay, not wanting to build the same thing over and over, location.

Exactly... The professional prop makers that I know work in the industry. Legacy props etc....

I understand that people may need to get used to methods, but that's what quality control/assurance is for. Some of these helmets should have never been sent out (like mine).

But I am happy the new ones are looking better. Hopefully me stirring up the pot everywhere made a bit of an impact.

Well they really need to search for the right talent for each product. Anovos cant afford to send out subpar quality due to inexperience workers. That would make them look even worse then they do now. "Im sorry your product is flawed we just hired timmy from down the street. He is our new intern hired to paint eveything." That would go well with customers! I actually never heard of this being an issue with high end licensed stuff.

I agree the quality control failed. Hopefully they make adjustments to their processes to correct this.

Mine was delivered in February.

I would think they have people hired for certain types of items like fiberglass helmets, soft goods, etc. However finishing a heavily weathered helmet is different than finishing clean, pristine helmets. I doubt they would have separate employees for finishing different types of fiberglass helmets. Even the type of clean finish such as a metallic look probably requires a little different approach than non-metalic.

I would hope they hire people with some kind of relevant experience, but they probably can't find enough that have lots of experience finishing every type of finish they have planned and are willing to work there.

Man, oh, man. I was so hoping that Anovos would finally, for once, make their shipping date. Four years have passed since I placed an order for my Kylo ensemble and FOTK kit. Four years. I even waited until today to see the Product Availability shipping update...and of course, it has been pushed to Q3. Whatever that means. How can a company do this to so many people for so long? It's just insane.

At the time of my order, Anovos didn't accept Amex, so I had to use my bank card, so no charge backs for me. And the legal angle fizzled for me. I'm not in California, Washington or New York, so I was bumped from the class action suit. Such a bummer.

I’ve gotten lucky and in the last 3 weeks received Mando (from Anovos ordered in March), TFA FO Premier Stormtrooper (from BBTS ordered 2 months ago) and Shoretrooper (from Anovos ordered 2 days ago) is in transit arriving Monday. Their weird “in stock” flux the last couple weeks is odd to me.

This thread was a rollercoaster. It's unfortunate with all of the great stuff they do actually ship out.

More like an absolute **** show lol!!!! On 10/9/16 I unfortunately ordered my FO kit....... the thieves over at aNOvos have yet to even inform and/ or update with any news. The amount of business ethics, communication and precision that this so-called company lacks is staggering to me. #absolutejoke

You want me to drive to Kenosha to rough em up a bit? I love 20 minutes away. [emoji38]

There is no “turn things around” or improvement. The timing, excitement, and interest has long ago waned for a lot of us. These guys suck both personally and professionally (this dual conclusion can arguably be reached by reading their lengthy b.s. prior to Celebration that year: delusional and defensive). They will continue to suck and a.) keep your money or b.) suck and send you a product.

I was really looking forward to making a scene at their booth at Celebration but I guess not this year.

Understand that if anyone makes too much of a scene they will get thrown out of Celebration. You probably know that. But photographing yourself with RS props t-shirts on at Anovos is great. Come next year I wouldn't mind buying RS shirts for the first 10 of us who want to convene at the booth for a group photo.

With RS helmets on even better.

And this is coming from someone who is skeptical of the UK/ LFL legal decision.

Any confrontation, profanity, or obstruction of commerce would get you thrown out (maybe something to consider for that Sunday morning).
