ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

Wait. Someone at Disney said that armor ships within 10 days?!!! That would be shocking.

And in reading here I do not agree that Anovos took a “risk” by being honest or open. They were obligated to do this all along. From any legitimate point of view, obligated. There is no reward or non-reward.

I very much doubt these are shipping direct from Anovos. Most likely Disney themselves have stock in their own warehouse, and anticipated most of their customers fly in and as such would be unable to travel with such a large package

So does anyone else find it funny that the all time most favorite item of the Anovos guys, which they are personally most excited about, is the Royal guard helmet...which is the only thing moved up by 2 quarters on their release schedule?
I don’t know these guys or their history here, but I get the feeling their whole “business model” is to just self servingly get access to the prop archive and have others finance their hobby to get what they want.
YES. Access to the archives is the only reason fanboys start prop businesses....you are funding their dreams in the hope you will get a cool product,,,,sometime in the far far away.....

No, they could not be more offensive.

And think of it, the Kylo blog is titled “Worth the Wait” - is that a positive spin of some kind?

The cake and gown are still going to arrive after the wedding.

Yeah, I’m repeating myself. A lot. But I’m dumbfounded. As a former costumer it just sounds like such a rookie move for manufacturer to add all that shiny crap with all the folds and drapery of a finished costume to contend with. Just shocking.

Fans may do that but that is a way different animal. Way different.

Reeling

A rip yes, but much more believable than 100 bucks for a priority mail folder for 4 pins and a couple shirts.

I'm sorry, but that's criminal. I think a massive explanation is definitely owed from them.

I think the explanation is very clear. They are ripping people off. Even though I may not receive them in the end I'm very glad the few things I ordered were through a 3rd party that doesn't charge you until it ships and don't gouge you on shipping.

I was curious about that myself. I hope that's the case. I was in Disneyland when they first opened Launch Bay a few years ago and bought the OT stormtrooper helmet. At that time everything still came directly from Anovos. I'm glad to see at least helmets are available to take away in hand in GE.

Perhaps as part of their license deal Disney made Anovos bump their production in order to support Disney’s initiatives such as the helmets for Rogue One, and now costumes for Galaxy’s Edge. There’s no question that Anovos handled their situation poorly, but perhaps they were forced to redirect, and part of the communication breakdown is that they can’t speak up (blame) Disney for doing it to them

A little late, but I just saw the anovos shipping schedule.

I’m sure this was already covered, but didn’t want to back read 10 pages.

Just IMHO....Disney came in and wrote some checks for production to bail them out and at the same time probably increased their return percentage.

If anovos failed, the lawsuit would’ve dragged Disney’s name along with it and made general public headlines (not just in the collectors community)

Just a theory

Knowing how some places operate, it would not surprise me if the factory actually forgot the coating, then tried to rectify it afterward.

I've been wondering the same thing. The Mouse will probably do whatever costs them the least money in the long run. If the did 'help them out', it would probably be one of the best outcomes for those that still want the product over a refund.

I actually have a theory that favors Anovos. I never thought I would say such a thing but the spunky business larva at Disney probably did not go in with enough appreciation for what was being attempted here.

Disney and LFL charge huge amounts for their licenses. However, the vast majority of their products turn over to almost automatic, simple production once up to speed.

Anovos is not attempting production of that nature and I am ready to believe that Disney failed to appreciate it until now.

Just a thought. If Disney could assist with a cash infusion but decided not too they would lose the most intense fans of their newly acquired Star Wars franchise.

They charged me $173.57 in shipping and handling for my jetpack.
Dude.. they hit you with $173.57 for shipping on that??? I mean, I get you're overseas and all but I only got hit $47.95 shipping for mine and don't see how you being over the pond could remotely cause it to be almost 4x more...
