Another, yes another Rocketeer Jetpack build.

Its C++/Arduino sub-set.. not Python.. (but there may be an interface/interpreter for Python somewhere?)

but you would have to start over from scratch, as I have never released this particular firmware for public use. (I dont believe Valor has either, but I cant speak for him)

Ok understand. I’m surprised green and red was chosen as the colors. These are full RGB led rings I believe. Anyway it’s such a nice circuit [emoji106]

Red & yellow was chosen... (unless changed after product files were released)..

Correct they are full RGB 'Neopixel rings'...

I have never viewed any green anywhere..

I hadn’t seen green either.
Mine definitely switches from red to GREEN. Weird. I’ll ask Valor.

Hey guys, great conversation! I hadn't seen green LEDs come into play either. ... Could you share a video of what's goin on. xl97 Good to hear from you man .... Folks, xl97 is the genius behind this kit. I'm just a part-buying, soldering monkey.

One thing to keep in mind: Colors, are created through an RGB LED by combining red, green, and blue. So ... to get a "yellow" tone, you will actually have a red and green LED firing ... If you look right at the LED it might not make sense, but the overall color will be yellow.

^ This.

This is correct/accurate explanation IMHO.... the blended output of the color should not reflect green.. (you arent meant to see the actual rings, just the thrust/output of the color [effect] itself)..

I'll mirror Valors' request to ask for a video example to see whats going on..

While I highly doubt this is the reason.. SOME of the Neopixel 'strips' (never saw this with rings or pcb's).. the color 'order' can be different.. (usually corrected in code...or I should say 'set' in code to match the parts you are working with).. so they come from the factory like RBG instead of say RGB for example.

You can clearly see a few LEDs popping as "green". They are merely in transition to becoming overall "yellow".

Thanks guys! I will take a closer look tonight and also capture a video. Maybe the problem is I’m looking directly at the rings. Valor suggests I shine onto a surface and see if the color rendering is pleasing. I will test all this and report back.

I made 3D printed parts for the hardware that moves the flaps. Positioned here on the wrong hole but for testing purposes only :)

I will paint them silver later.

Painted the fan. This color is a good match if you’re looking for the right one. I plan to weather it later

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I reviewed a number of videos sent to me by gnolivos. And I sent him some videos of my pack. I can see how if you look at the LEDS you see some green pop occasionally. That’s to be expected. I certainly don’t want to tell you you’re not seeing what you’re seeing. I can tell you that the kit appears to be operating as it was designed. As the color cycles from Red, there is occasional pops of the G in the RGB.

But please don’t make the occasional green flicker feel bad. After all, as Kermit said “It’s not easy being green”.

Mic drop.

I just received my kit today and thank God for this post because I was looking for a fan and a place for buying the cone fins. Could you point me in the direction of all the parts you've been getting? :) The fins, metal rod size, flap hinges/rods

I created all parts in shapeways. Give me a few days and I will make them available for purchase.

The fan was from eBay:

Ball End rod links:

More parts later after they arrive and I verify fit etc.

Whomever bought my parts from Shapeways, you may want to add the set of rivets I just made. Combine it with your order to save shipping. Ask them, they will. Or enter it in your order to combine them.... there is that option.

The rivets are missing in some areas in models like rusotech’s.
