Having just finished the BR Police car I was reminded of a project I abandoned around 20 years ago.
I was desperate to build something like a Spinner but there was nothing available.....I hit upon the idea of using a Fujimi kit of a short-lived Japanese supercar, the Jiotto Caspita, and fitting out the interior like a spinner.
I still have the model and I'm tempted to finish it off if I can find the missing headlight lenses.....
View of the engine...
Bodyshell removed...
Interior....seatbelts are lead foil with etched buckles...figure is heavily modified from the Tamiya Campus Friends set...note the clutter on the dash...
Overhead console....lit by LED's
Close-up of dashboard clutter...note the cigarette pack and Zippo lighter and the McDonalds coffee cup...
Closer view...most of the consoles were added and are lit...note the monitors in the doors made from square green LED's...
Wiring under the dash...
More wiring in the doors...
Bit blurry sorry but shows the monitors lit up....the LED's were faced with sections of library microfiche film to mimic computer readouts...
Side view....all the markings were made from decal sheet and Letraset rub-down letters...no home printing 20 years ago!
9v battery for scale...
Rear view....
Top view....
Here's the real thing....
