Just a quick update:

Started the detailing of the sphere today:

ChrometechUSA is where I plated my Rims. Its best to silicone them on a 5mm x 5mm styrene rod of plastic....the send them to Robert.

The progress is just excellent--I always love seeing how people vacuum-form as I don't have the moxy to try it yet myself. Nicely detailed and the pics turned out very easy to follow!

Looking good, Niels. Did you use a solvent based acrylic cement to attach the two hemispheres, or something else? How about you, Frank: Any advice on cementing the two halves?

The code for 6" acrylic is VHH-600. For 6" grey ABS it's VHH-600VG.

now with basecolor ....... had to use some heavy layers, due to some markerlines leaking through the paint .... I thought I had removed them with a detergent ... apparently not enough :-(

So the layer of paint is a bit on the heavy side, and the lines a still a bit visible .... oh well .. we'll see once it has gotten some weathering ...... if I'm not satisfied I'll strip it and repaint it after the show in Birmingham

Getting closer ... it still needs some more weathering (washes and filters) ... to unify the different colors and layers ... but it's getting closer
