ANH DL-44 paint color and finishes

I'm almost set to start paint on an ANH style DL-44 prop I've been working on bit by bit since Feb. It's a mix of 3d printed parts and a core Nerf style mauser I bought on Aliexpress. Is there any specific paint colors and finishes people have been using to paint a DL-44?

For the main body I was thinking satin black with graphite powder rubbed on it. The front grill. Being semi-gloss black. The scope mount being base silver with semi-gloss black over top but with silver revealed in sections. The muzzle is going to be dark Aluminium. And the scope itself a mix of satin black and metallic brass.

Is this on the right track at all?

Most of that sounds perfect. I do think, though, that the muzzle should have more of a flat, Parkerized kind of look, a flat black or very dark grey, or a combination of both. I think the silver muzzles of ESB and ROTJ have erroneously affected people's perception of the ANH muzzle (and even in LFL's depictions in ancillary media). Dark aluminum is a good step back from that, but I still think that would be too silvery.

In this picture the muzzle definitely looks like it has more of a dark metallic look to it. But now I'm definitely second guessing the paint choice. I was going with Vallejo Metal Colour Dark Aluminum. But I'm not sure if that's dark enough. Maybe should try and get Steel instead.

I would personnaly use a very dark Brown as a base coat for the main mauser body, sprinkle it with water and salt on some tiny spots, then cover it up with a Light gun metal darkened with dark/black dry pastel to give it an old patina + satin clear coat and then buffing it with graphite powder.

The bolt, hammer and lock frame (including the "takedown latch" below the hammer) should all be bare steel. I think you could use the same dark steel paint on those as on the flash hider.

Even though it is attached to the lock frame, the safety is "blued" steel (i.e. black) like the body though.

Then be sure to use a dark wash in the grooves of the hammer and the knurling on the flash hider.
Dry-brush rust colour on top of bare steel. Dry-brush steel on edges of "blue steel".
I also used a wash of rust-colour in the cutouts on the sides of the receiver.

The TomTit parts: front grille and rods on top of bull barrel were black plastic though, so no weathering on those.

The shell I'm working with isn't the most accurate, but its close enough for what I can get in Canada considering how restrictive gun laws.

The bull barrel will be sitting a bit closer to the main body on the finished version. I'm just waiting for my friend to get the updated piece to me.
