ANH asymetric Stunt Stormtrooper Helmet WIP COMPLETE Pics Page 4 #84

Re: ANH Stormtrooper Helmet Pepakura WIP *UPDATE*

It is coming along nicely. It's looking to me like ROTJ helmet. But that could be because it has no trim or painted details. It's looking somewhat squished like a ROTJ though.

Re: ANH Stormtrooper Helmet Pepakura WIP *UPDATE*

still some improvements with milliput, fleshed left eye up a litte and worked on the areator-area.

got some problems with milliput, after kneding it is still sort of clumsy.

and it really clogs my sandpaper after 24h allowed to dry

And i've found an area which i won't get accurate, its marked red in the right picture.

the only way would be to cut off and create new.

Maybe it is an error in the 3d-model?

Wow, man! This is really well done. I would love to give this a try. I know I have the time and patience, but I feel that I lack the skill.
Keep at it!

also correct the right eye, and add the first "tooth" in the frown:

Re: ANH Stormtrooper Helmet Pepakura WIP *UPDATE*

First "experimental" external "Ear" done.

Think it must be slightly bigger and a little bit more in front:

Hi Toxx,

Based on your feedback I've altered the jaw on the model.

Any comments are welcome.

Thank you for your work and the living process of altering your model to improve it.

i think the bottom jaw line matches now the w-style-line of the helmet more accurate!

It become obvious in the shoot from below of the original helmet shown up further in this thread

Some things will never get final ... :D

Get the left ear "ready", try to imitate the washed out vacuformed look:

Re: ANH Stormtrooper Helmet Pepakura WIP *UPDATE*

Looks really better...

I think i try to rework the earpeaces with the FIMO air "light" clay that i purchased yesterday.

one ear of the normal airdry clay i used weight around 60gr, much too heavy for me.

And new milliput arrived, perhaps i try with the vocoder tonight.

Re: ANH Stormtrooper Helmet Pepakura WIP *UPDATE*

Got the Vocoder ready

At the weekend i try to manage a last coat of primer, an rework the ears.

This is not the final "ear", I need to resculpt it.

Re: ANH asymetric Stunt Stormtrooper Helmet Pepakura WIP *UPDATE*

Looks awesome! And to think it started out as paper. Well done.

Re: ANH asymetric Stunt Stormtrooper Helmet Pepakura WIP *UPDATE*

The filler-primer i've used got a little "grainy", maybe it was to sunny that day i sprayed so that it dried to fast bevor smoothing?

So have to sand again

May a 240 wetsand be enough to go with white glossy paint afterwards?

Re: ANH asymetric Stunt Stormtrooper Helmet Pepakura WIP *UPDATE*

I used white primer and and wet sanded that with 400 then 600 after i hit that with a clear coat and then sanded that starting with 600 and worked my way to a 1000 grit then polished and buffed mine. I wanted mine to be as smooth as glass. it all depends on how smooth you want yours to look I personally would hit it with at least a 400 grit wet sand.
