So, just saw Angels & Demons and actually liked it quite a bit. Much better than Da Vinci Code. Anywho, I think it's time we started a thread to discuss the movies props and where we can get them, who will make them, etc.

Some cool props include:
-AntiMatter Canister/Bomb
-Commander Richter's Computer Key
-Brands (five total- Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Crossed Keys)
-Popes' Rings
-Langdon's Mickey Mouse Watch
-Galileo Book/page with clue
-There were other papers that Langdon looks at in the archives that slip my mind, but a few more viewings/ DVD release will help us get a better list

I asked Noble Collection if they planned on making any of these, They gave kind of a lame answer but since they have a couple A&D items (not props) already, I suppose it's possible. Their Da Vinci Props were cool. I have the cryptex and Fleur De Lis Key and they are great.

Nope. No one huh? well this is depressing. I thought we could get a huge discussion going about this movie's props :cry

Perhaps a simpler one to kick the ball rolling would be the fax shown to Langdon in the beginning of the movie with the ambigram on it.

I wouldn't be to down hearted at the moment. I want to see the movie but hate cinemas with an absolute passion (over sensitive ears) so I'm waiting for the DVD release.

Once more people see the film I've no doubt many prop discussions and JY threads will be started. Hang in there:).

If I get a free moment at work I will talk to the prop assistant on Monday abou the watch and where they got it. IF they used it. I know it was big in the book, but does anyone see if it will be in the movie? Who knows WHAT makes it in a movie version of a book. Heck, I see NO proof that Maximilian Kohler is even in the movie. Which would change the story line greatly. Maybe he's the "Bombadil" of A&D. Maybe the real director of CERN didn't want the press.

I've talked with him before and he said the brands are amazing. A good paper prop would be the fax presented to Langdon in the trailer.

The watch is definitely in the movie, I believe they show it twice. It was In DVC as well but very briefly. Kohler is not in the movie but the change is kind of necessary. They basically cut out where Langdon goes to CERN and he goes straight to the Vatican. Sounds bad but it worked for me. The fax Langdon gets in the beginning would be a great start. Very easy to make for anyone here. Thanks for getting this started guys :D

I haven't seen the movie yet, but if the Mickey Mouse watch was vintage, good chance it's an Ingersoll from the 30s. They made them in round and rectangular cases, as well as pocket watches. An eBay search should turn up several of each at any given time.

Anyone have a screencap of this Mickey watch? *Damn* Earthquake happening!

Hoping it's a 1969 "Mod" Mickey watch as I own one of these...

I assume the watch was either a replica, purchased, or rented from a prop house. I nkow they rented a billion things from my work so I'll see if we have MM watches. I would assume Ron Howard would stick to the continuity of the two movies. Since Langdon's parents gave him the watch when he was ten years old, I assume they'd be good enuf to use d the same watch (type) in both movies. Maybe taking a cheap watch and a carfully placed graphic and hands would make a great replics. VERY HARD IMHO.

Da vinci Code:

It was not the Ingersoll first series because that one had a small seconds countdown circle by the feet.

I am convinced his is THIS one. This is the Bradley "Pie Eye" first model, from the '70s. Notice the very rare Mickey facing left, with his name in the form of a sort of circle.

Excellent catch man! That looks to be it. I wonder if they went with the same model for A&D...

I actually dig the crucifix in the camerlengo's office. Don't know if anyone has a line on one. Or perhaps a screen cap. It's only seen a couple of times. But it looks about 18" long.

I'm having trouble picturing the cross in my head, hopefully we'll start seeing some nice screen caps soon for reference.

Does anyone have pics of the other brands?
I have the crossed keys.

Could you post the pic you have of the crossed keys? I don't have a pic of the actual brands but I do have the designs for the ambigrams:

I can only see your last picture. I think Illuminati is spelled wrong in your pic?
Can you confirm the spelling in your pic is correct to the movie?
Here is the screen cap of the crossed keys.

Illuminati is definitely spelled right. That's the official ambigram that John langdon made for the novel, which is exactly how it is in the movie. I'll fix the other pics, sorry about that.
