Angel's #1 BOSS mug.

OK, I know there's an old thread about the mugs of Buffy, and angel, but it seem to be kind of dead, and since I want to move forward with my Angel #1 BOSS mug, I thought I would start a thread about his particular mug.

Anyway's I've posted a few pics bellow of the real mug. Since I can't find a "found" mug like it, I'm going to try to make my own, but I'm not good with text, so I've taken a crack at doing the text myself, but I would really appreciate any feedback, tips, or help you might have to offer, so that I can get this project moving.

It doesn't look as black as the #1 on the real mug, and Photoshop agrees, so I did it in blue. Plus, if I recall, that's what color they did it in on the one that came with my angel action figure. (not that those are ever 100% accurate.)

What color should it be? What about the look over all? What needs tweaked? (if anything)

Looks good to me. I was unable to get the mug project off and running due to work but that is taken care of now. Let me know how I can help.

Thanks!

Well, best laid plans......

As I mentioned in the old thread, I found White mugs that are a nice match for the Angel #1 BOSS mug, for $.50 each (just without any text.)

As I also mentioned in the old thread, when I used to work in a meijers photo lab, we used to use iron-on transfer paper, to put images on mugs. So I thought I would try printing out the "#1 BOSS" text (Now that we seem to have it figured out). And try doing it the way we did at meijers. I mean, I'm mostly looking for a cheap way to make a display piece. I don't care as much that it's useable, as it look good in my angel display, with out spending a fortune.

Well, so far, not so good. I don't know if it's the paper I'm using, or what, but it just doesn't want to stick.

I tried it a few time today, and the only time it even kind of stuck was when it kind of burnt on there. :lol Plus, it left kind of a film were the paper had been. (even in the white areas. :( )

At this rate a sticker would look as good.......... is there any way to get some stickers made up in this size, cheap? Or, better yet, a template/stencil that we could use to paint them? You know, like some kind of printable kind. I see people on those car, and motorcycle shows doing paint jobs using much more complicated stencils to paint on logos, and stuff, and I doubt they cut them all out buy hand.

Thoughts? suggestion?

Cool project. :)

If you go the sticker route, maybe vinyl stickers would work?

Doesn't seem like making a stencil wouldn't be too hard, either. They sell sticky stencil paper that would probably work, too. I'm just not sure if you can print on it...

Here is a 15oz mug for dyesublimation that looks close. I can produce these.

Yeah, that looks good to me. I don't know how much those are, but the mugs at Meijers look exactly like that, and there just $.50 (then the ones you posted might be special for dyesublimation, I don't know)

Anyway's, if you can do them, you're MORE then welcome to use the graphics I've posted here, to make them up. :)

BTW, the one on the show, has the same text on both side of the mug.(I don't know if that's doable, or not, I just thought I would point it out.)

If you try it out, and it works, maybe well have ot start an interest thread. ;)

Oh, how much do you thing the dyesublimation way, would cost?
