Andor Blaster Master Thread - Spoilers possible

Both the Chiappa Rhino and one of the Matebas share some similar design features, but no matches. Managed to get a more detailed screen cap.(with DL-44 included for scale) It definitely shares features of a derringer of some sort (double barrels, break hinge point on top), but I can't find anything close enough to even be a potential base. I'm beginning to believe it may be a custom piece like Rey's NN-14. Could still be based on a toy of some sort, but I've yet to find a match there either.

I’m still going with derringer, it’s blurry but you can almost see the hinge for the barrel to swing up and the double barrels instead of a barrel and push rod. Little googling tho I haven’t found one on point yet

Dagnabit, I know I've seen that grip and hammer shape somewhere. Crsenel's website is down, but I've had a look through the thumbnails on their YouTube channel.

It feels too big to be a derringer, though, this is pocket pistol sized. It could be an over/under pocket pistol, but I wouldn't call that a derringer.

My gut still says "revolver," but if so then it's clearly just the grip and lower frame. It sort of looks like a Japanese Type 26 with a second barrel, but the hammer is wrong. Webley WG has similar lines, but again - extra barrel and wrong hammer.

Had it confirmed by a hand prop and weapon supervisor from the show. Kleya's blaster was entirely custom. They drew inspiration from derringers, since it was supposed to be a small, concealable pistol, but there was no actual firearm used. Likely it seems so familiar because they took a lot of design language from real firearms.

Pretty sure the Repeater goes back as far as Jedi Outcast.

WOW that’s a blast from the past. I had outcast II on my Macintosh, and I remember this gun being strong but rather inaccurate lol I think my favorite was that gray/black small rifle that shot very precise but short rays

The disruptor?

There was a "Repeater" blaster as far back as Dark Forces, but it had a different design.

I guess it was the Demp 2 and you could charge up the secondary pulse.

Cassian’s fav blaster reminds me of the Bryar pistol in the same game

Kyle's blaster is the original Bryar pistol. It originated in Dark Forces.

Its appearances changes between the games.

In Dark Forces II they made a physical prop. The handle looked a little like a revolver.

This is how it looked it The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology.

It looked like this in Battlefront (2015). Making the jump to the new continuity in the Death Star DLC. Along with the TL-150 Heavy Repeater.

Cassian carries another model of the Bryar. The MW-20.

In the EU, the Bryar pistol was actually a cut down rifle. (We never got to see the rifle.) But that tid bit of lore wasn't carried over.

There's kind of a knod to it though. In S2E8, Andor uses his Bryar Pistol with an attachable barrel and stock as a sniper rifle. It is the one he uses when he tries to shoot Dedra Meero across the Ghorman square.

There are a couple pictures of the live-action Bryar Pistol from Jedi Knight over in this thread.

I kinda thought that about the A-280 CFE in Rogue One. (And now Andor) A280-CFE convertible heavy blaster pistol

The Dark Forces II live action pistol has some Blade Runner vibes. Anyone ever make run of that blaster?

Nope. Check Season 2 episode 10 at the 4:16 minute mark. (I can't grab a pic off disney plus right now). That's not a M712. Look at the lanyard ring. It's a c96 replica. Probably a Denix

And I'm pretty sure it has the Evike scope, mount, and flash hider
Yep! You are right on with all you pointed out. Strange how Disney seems to be all over the place with these DL-44s. From TFA to SASWS to Andor.. they are all different yet similar enough to confuse most. If anything its shows the budget they are working with or confined to. Those Evike scopes and mounts simply being bought and not originally recreated is forever upsetting to me.
