You took one of the most common builds and made it completely unique!
Extraordinary!!!
Great craftsmanship so far... Can't wait to see it come together!
I had to look up what that was! Think I'm gonna stick with a furnace type idea for the chest. This got me thinking I might add a gauge or two to one of the forearm pieces.
I just had to ask, because I'm intrigued by this statement. I was considering doing the same thing (although I was going to use JFcustom's speed-build templates), and I was wondering (and hunting through the forums) to see if anyone else had used the foam templates with trash-can plastic.
Are their instructions or a guide for how to modify using the templates to do trash can instead of foam?
There is a mark V related Guide on rpf but essentially you cut the templates out of paper and use the curve of the bin to get a better fit. Then rivet everything together with bits of scrap plastic. It becomes much harder when you try and do smaller complex pieces like the shoulders. I started with the chest and that was fairly straight forward.
I also found getting the curve right for the top of the helmet difficult so on the end I cheated and used a fibreglass piece.
A heat gun also helps to pull things together a bit.
