AMCs Preacher Build

Thinking of putting a Preacher costume together. Something cheap and easy for Halloween. Anyone else planning the same? Need to source everything first. The shirt is causing me some trouble, because it looks brown in extreme sunlight (whereas his trousers are always black) so not sure what colour to go with for the shirt. It also has fancy snap buttons so looks like I'll need a specific shirt. Anyone happen to have a source on it? Also need to figure out the fit of his trousers. They look slim, but he wears cowboy boots and in some shots it looks like they're torn on the seam line to fit the boots under. The boots look like regular length black snakeskin/crocodile skin? As a cowboy boot aficionado, I'd love to own some anyway. Jacket is a slim fit with peaked lapels.

Glad I'm not the only one. Was hoping to find a thread already made when I looked it up. So the trousers are denim jeans as opposed to regular cotton?

found a close up of the collar tips via IG, Im going to have my friend 3d model and make them since these look vintage and I haven't found anything with that design.

Cool. I spent a chunk of today looking for the jacket. Or at least a jacket. Had a look round local shops but everything is notched lapels these days. I think it might be a thrift store deal. Had a look for a Varvatos jacket online, found one similar but it had zippers on the pockets and a different breast pocket. In pictures it looks like a thick wool judging by the thickness of the lapels. Definitely not something you'd wear in the southern heat.

my thoughts too, I ended up picking up a peak lapel slim suit coat from mens warehouse for like 80.00.

also Im certain that wrangler western black shirt I posted earlier is the same as the show, the shoulder patches and the cut of the pockets are the exact same as the show as well as the snap buttons
also I think his preacher tab is the cloth kind not the rigid acrylic like ones
found some better pics of the shirt collar tips
the pic below is the shirt comparison and you can also see that they are indeed jeans with a slit on the inside for the boots.


belt buckle looks to be a clipped corner belt buckle in antique nickel

Yeah, the way the collar puckers in some shots suggests it's cloth. I've been looking at some Varvatos jeans, would you say they're slim fit or regular fit? I'd say slim fit, but the boots may be making them look tighter than they actually are. Also, that's an awesome shot of the ring and the watch in that bar scene.

they look to be slim/ or slim straights.

I must say though we are on a roll breaking down his wardrobe. This show has been intense and awesomely refreshing, so I assume more peeps will jump on the bandwagon as more episodes air and want to undertake a preacher build.

I think you're right about the Wrangler shirt being SA. He has a three button cuff closure, which matches the Wrangler. It all fits. I've bought some boots, the most exciting part of the outfit. I think I'll go for some cheap jeans though seeing as I'll have to rip them. Plus, since we don't know the exact style of Varvatos he wears, it's risky getting the fit right. I'll buy some cheap ones in a store that I can try on before I buy.

shirt came in i might leave the top button undone as I noticed there is a huge amount of distance where the white tab sits. so either my wrangler is the wrong era or generation or he leaves it un-clipped to create that distance over all im happy cause it looks close to the show

or just thinking about it what if the clips dont perfectly sandwich the the tips of the collar if they are clipped a-little lower they would create a longer more dramtatic point without having to alter the collar.

He may also sit the tab higher than it's supposed to go, creating a new fold line on the collar and bringing the angles of the collar tips in closer together.

Also, you look a lot more like Preacher than I do! You're going to rock that look.

I ordered some backup ones if my initial plan doesn't work butttttt I wouldn't mine getting some SA ones


In other news my buckle and boots came in today, buckle looks brass in the pics buts not its just warm light in my living room

you can see how much those boots press up against his jeans, Im actually able to thread my boots on my jeans but Im going to just seam rip a good 1-2 inches up so it flares out.

so turns out the collar was going to take 3 weeks to ship, I need this for next weekend so I went to my senpai at amperspand and shes doing one for me that fits to me and my shirt out of some premium cotton and mid weight interface. I like the way its looking. Also having her fit my blazer and fix my jeans. also blew the $$ to get a fx electronic cig, should be better then smoking a real one lol

Are those blue jeans or is it just the light? Did you get Varvatos in the end? I was planning on making my own collar, but good tip on the interfacing. I think I have some spare.
