Amazing Spiderman Build (Taylor McManus)

How are you going to do the spidey emblems Mercy? Are you going with silicone also or just regular paint puff? Was wondering if there's a easy to to add silicone for the front and back spidey emblems instead of puff paint.

Great question.
I was hoping someone would do a run for silicon spiders but no luck so far.
May just be using puffy.

I just got this pattern and I was wondering the same thing. I want it to look clean, but I just got into this stuff and am still doing some homework on it.

The problem with doing silicone spiders is that they'd EACH have to be scaled to fit the individual suit since the web pattern sort of beds around each one.

Additionally, they'd be made of many pieces which, over time, would come unglued caused lots of problems.

If someone were to want to experiment with this, I'd recommend looking at getting silicone sheeting laser cut, so that the spider could be made to exact scale for a particular suit. You still have the issue of glue though. Ponoko, last I checked, offers laster cut silicone if anyone is interested in trying this. (Not sure of the thickness they offer)

As always Nick your imput is appreciated.
At this point I don't want to have to deal with the stress on hunting anything else down.
I am already feeling pressure not having a seamstress.
Clocks ticking for Wizard World Austin and Halloween.

I'm loving this thread! Awesome work man, can't wait to see more of your progress. Sorry your hand hurts, but you know what they say, no pain, no gain!

I read TheNickFox's write up, and he said it's from the back of the neck to the shoulders. So that's what I told the seam stress. I have my first fitting Monday. So wish me luck lol.

Because of this thread with so much questions answered by you Mercy. I'm going to get myself a DGP print and start this journey with you my friend. Let the puff painting begin with the 2 of us. I won't start a thread like you but i'll give you updates myself. I'm going puff paint first and shoes last. Seamstress i'm in a pickle like you. Although i'm in the bay area so finding a seamstress shouldn't be that hard especially in San Francisco City. I'll check on this thread for your updates my friend :)

Nice!
Glad to hear it. Thanks for th kind words. Yes please post pics.

On a side note. I may begin puffing with Navy Blue Slick.
In the past I was told to drop maybe 3-4 Slick Black drops in the Slick Navy bottle.
But with DGP's darker print I think maybe just the plain Slick Navy on a dark background might look really super duper.

I have read that before in the past threads on dropping 3-4 slick black drops to mix it with the slick navy bottle. But those prints were light so you might have a point with just using regular slick navy. Wonder if there's a way to test it without ruining the print.

Woah!
Anyway to lower the center web to your nose?
Rather have tight than baggy.
Are you sewing it yourself now?

Yes I can pull it down to try and center it. Not sure how well that will work once it's sewn to the suit.

No, I'm have a seamstress doing it and she wanted me to have a test fitting to see what needed to adjustment.
