Aluminum Captain America Shield

So I've been working on a full sized replica Aluminum shield. I have the two red stripes and the blue painted. My plan is to take it to a body shop in my area and have them clear coat it, but before I do that I'm wondering what to use for the handles on the back and how to attach them. I have tried to find anything on here but i haven't been able to come up with anything.

Thanks!

Depending on what you want for accuracy, Valor sells some really nice ones on his etsy for around $200. There are a few kits on there. Otherwise I've seen people use picture hanging brackets and belts to make the straps. Both options use JB weld to attach to shield with a bit of scuffing to both surfaces.

The star for the front is a separate part, should I attach it with JB weld before or after the clear coat? I'm kinda thinking before

I personally do it after everything, but it is personal preference, I use a satin clear is why I do it separate, but if you use a gloss than it would be better to attach it first to protect it from scratches. You can also use heavy duty 5 minute epoxy for the star, just in case it comes out the side it dries clear.

I have bracket/handle kits ready to ship. Let me know if I can help.
