All things Tron Legacy

I agree, especially since most of the tie-in material uses "Tron" with a word following it (i.e. comic: "Tron: Betrayal", the game, "Tron: Evolution"). My bet it's going to be something like "Tron: Corruption."

Maybe Tron: Resurrection or something, since we all know that
Tron didn't die

lol.

True, but the problem with using "Tron: Resurrection" indicates that Tron completely died and then came back, which is a bit of a contradiction, since
Tron didn't die, but was just corrupted by CLU 2 after being disabled.

Whereas, "TRON: Corruption" is more applicable in more than one way, such as the Dillingers' possible plans with taking over Encom (with Dillinger Jr. being the inside man, "corrupting" things from the inside) and a possible use of a computer virus "corrupting" the inside of the Encom servers if they decide to use that type of storyline.

But then again, the whole title may fall down into what kind of story is being told.

I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Tron and an expansion of the events in the flashback in the new animated series out this year.

There, now I can sleep.

roflol...

... where'd you get the stands btw... :|

now you made my recognizer look grounded...

The Three Man Light Jet that lights up and fits three Core figures is available at Toys R Us for $27.99. I picked one up today!

Quick question for you Guys, is the Art of Tron worth picking up ? Is it a making of book or just pre-visual paintings?

I was at Target yesterday and they had all 3 disks for $15.95 each.

What's the cheapest anyone has found them??
If anyone has a "Grandview Weekend Outlet" in their area I think you should try looking there. I know there are several in the Kentucky, West Virginia and Ohio area but outside of that I'm not sure. They basically sell surplus, returned and junked stuff from Target (at least Target and I think other retailers too) at seriously discounted prices.
I've found boxes and boxes of Hasbro lightsabers, Clonetrooper and Boba Fett toy helmets there for $1.50 to $5 each. They had one of those 12-inch super-deluxe talking Buzzz Lightyears for $4.95 today.
I have a feeling there will be a lot of Tron stuff there soon (if not already) and it'll probably be a great source for broken or non-functioning Identity Discs for modding. My guess is they'll go for around $5 each. Every store seems to set their own prices for stuff.
The one in my area seems to be on a pretty hefty Prince of Persia kick right now. That crap is everywhere. It's not a place to go shopping for food, medicine or anything electrical... but you can get toys and random junk for props extraordinarily cheap.

Also my local Disney store had all Tron stuff marked down %30 last week. Not sure if that's still going on though.

I just punched the name into google and found their crappy website.
Grandview Outlets
Seems they're centralized mainly to my area. Since there are so many around here I thought it was at least an east coast thing. They don't list their locations in West Virginia, though. Unless they've closed recently (or opened since the site was updated) there may be additional locations in different states that aren't on the website. Tennessee isn't that far, and since they opened one in Indiana they may branch down there soon. I have noticed, though, with each new store their inventory seems to diminish.
I usually work weekends and they're only open on weekends, but if I can somehow nab a bunch at dirt cheap I'll spread the wealth around at little to no profit.
If they're anything like Lightsabers... every weekend they would have 5 huge plastic tubs full of dozens of them, some still in boxes, for like $1.50 each. I remember they had tons of the "build your own lightsaber" kits as well as TFU sabers. I bought the crap out of those things and most of them worked fine.

Working on the phone prop. I did figure I can use an el sheet to light up the chip area. And I now know what to do and not to do to modify one of these. Finally, I will need to start looking for the darker steel color phone to exactly match it up.

I have a grey one on the way. The screen on these does pop out. You need to take an exacto knife and carefully pull up the plastic. It is just double taped down. There is a demo picture underneath that you can replace with a new photo shot of the movies screen phone pic. The plastic under that is solid, unless you cut it out, you cannot light it from under, but with a photo quality print, it really does not matter too much. For the chip, I would recommend just notching a bay with your Dremel. You really do not need to dis assemble the darn thing as I did.

I'm still hoping that maybe they'll include the character of Jet from the game as a character in the next film (they don't have to make him exactly like he was in the game, but still include a version of him).

Honestly, I've been trying to find a custom shape for Adobe Photoshop, as I am trying to actually make a chip design using the image (just to see if I can make an image that matches the design). So far, the closest I've seen of the "tron disc" image that is on the chip is a bullseye on a set of flags on the TV show of "Top Shot." But for finding a custom shape for Photoshop, I haven't found one (I may have to do individual shapes, layer on layer).
