All things Tron Legacy

Re: All things Tron Legacy - Discussion

Re: All things Tron Legacy - Discussion

awesome video, if slightly confusing...

Re: All things Tron Legacy - Discussion

Anyone worried this film wont live up to the 2 years of hype? :(

I know I will LIKE it, but the reviews are all really bashing the CGI Kevin Flynn etc.

They say the story is all over the place and seemingly thrown together. I really will lose faith in movies if this one is a phantom menace. Really hoping the reviews I read are just from people who weren't fans.

Besides... WHEN was the last time a GREAT movie came out that critics and fans all liked?

Re: All things Tron Legacy - Discussion

So... saw Tron: Legacy last night and I have to say... it's pretty damn awesome. There was a little cop-out toward the end that kinda peeved me, but it's a small thing. Costume-wise (this IS the RPF), Kevin Flynn has an awesome hooded coat that has the light lining on the inside only, just around the edges and at the cuffs of the sleeves. Super cool. Going to have to try to figure out how to replicate that. In all, I highly doubt you guys will be disappointed.

TRON Legacy is PG? Hooray! I miss the action oriented PG rated flicks!

Re: All things Tron Legacy - Discussion

Just back from seeing it. Still buzzed - I haven't had that much fun at a cinema in quite a while. I'll be seeing it again. Gorgeous visuals, fun characters and it has to be the Meade-esque design-fest of the century.

I won't claim it's perfect by any means but it was an enjoyably bombastic, nostalgic blast.

Pretty good and positive review. YouTube - Review: Tron Legacy (With clip) - Stupid For Movies Ep #37

I can understand why SOME wouldn't like it. Sounds like it's not for the avatar "sheeple" with a lil for everyone. NO, this sounds to be made just for the old fans.

Something George Lucas shoulda tried with the prequels.

Fans of the original film will really get off on this one, I hope. I did - big frissons of nostalgic pleasure whallop you many times during the film.

It will polarise audiences a bit, storywise it has its problems, but they're not as bad as the original by any means. It's just your pretty straightforwards adventure movie with a few religious allusions and apocalyptic metaphors thrown in, but that stuff isn't anywhere near as in your face as it was in the Matrix sequels. The vehicles move with real-world physics instead of the original inertialess style, and turbine sound effects and suchlike abound. You get used to that.

It could use some less clunky character development too; oh, really, I could pick it apart all night I suppose but I'd much rather just bask in the warm afterglow of a movie that I frikkin enjoyed.
