All Metal Jayne Pistol

I've been nearly nothin' but a lurker on this board;
soaking up tons of info but not posting.

My current project has just gone on "I can't get more stinking triggerguards" hiatus,
but I thought I'd share my progress so far.

I started out wanting to make a Firefly/ Serenity shadowbox.
A Jayne LeMat conversion seemed essential and since in machining, set-up is half the job,
I decided on building the extras with an eye toward trading one and
putting two on eBay to finance my hobby.

So basically, only one has made its way out of this group shot.

I work in a printing plant maintenance department with a manual machine shop;
so I work on my projects on the weekends when work allows.
My background is as a toolmaker/ machinist,
but there is more money in printing what we "fondly" refer to as "junk mail"
(Sunday news sales circulars etc.)

Here would be another machining project, Serenity Grenades

Worthy of their own thread if I succeed at making them
pop-open and light-up.

I actually would have been interested in one of your LeMats without the triggerguard change, Mike. Unfortunately, I was interested in one without the lanyard change, too. Any chance of just buying the the barrel assembly half of the gun from you?

I'm updating some of my projects that I didn't follow through with on the RPF after I started my collection thread.

and I figure what good is a search when it leads to dead,
(or seemingly dead), projects?

So here is the update on the Jayne pistols:

Four Firefly Jayne Cobb Lemats, nearly complete.
One for me, one for a fellow Browncoat, one for my son, one for eBay.
And of course, I did finish them:

Very nice work! It would figure that my very first post is on a Jayne thread... I have a fairly accurate costume, and an unmodified Denix Lemat. I'm a handy modder/fabricator, but no machinist. Any chance you're going to make more of the addon bits we could purchase to mod our existing guns?
