Aliens locator tube dimensions?

I have wanted an Aliens locator tube for a very long time. I know that SD Studios did a run of FANTASTIC Machined ones, with electronics, and now offers with or with out electronics. (without for the budgetly tempered) Wall both are very farely priced, there well out of the range of what I can swing right now. so I'm looking to do a hardware version, and I'm looking for some dimensions.

I don't need anything fancy. Just the proper length, OR diameter. I can figure the rest out from there. I'm not looking to copy any once work. (well anyone here on the boards) So, I'm not going to be trying to make this look exactly like any of the runs done here, and mine wont have electronics. I'm just looking to cut up a metal, or PVC tube, using the old Paper prop model, as a template, but I want to scale that template as close as possible to the real thing.

Feel free to PM me the dimensinos to me, if you don't want to post them here.

Any help would be great.

Flattery will get you no-where.

Well...

Maybe SOMEWHERE...

The trick with these was that the original prop was made in the UK, so it scaled out in metric dimensions. Thus, we had to find a metal supplier who stocked metric 6061 aluminum tube diameters in the US. We DID, but...Ug.

The tube is 30mm diameter by 93mm long (without the knob).

If you want a machined end-knob, machined window, graphics, screw/button and red filter gel, I would be willing to ship the set for $20 complete.

Always willing to help the budget-minded collectors (I am one of them...I can't afford my own stuff...) :lol

PM me if interested.

WOW! That is fantastic. :) Thank you so very much. :)

I have some "1 inch" steal conduit pipe laying around that is actually not 1", but is very, very close to 30mm. :) That, a Pipe cutter (for the groove) and some filing (to shape the grooves) and a dremel. (to cut the window, and screw/button whole.) should get me most of the way there on the tube.

Thanks so very much for your generous offer on the parts, and I am very tempted, but I think I have some stuff laying around here, that will work for thos parts. (Though I may end up eating those words, and ordering them later. )
