So is it a good or a bad sign that the game has been pushed back?
As long as it's better than the AVP game...I'll probably buy it.
Be specific Comander. There are dozens upon dozens of AVP games. Some I hold dear to my heart (Aliens Vs. Predator 2).
I still think the original AvP on the PC was the best of the lot. I know many people swear by AvP2 but I thought that game had alot of cheapness to it. Walk backwards and you could see the bugs materialize behind you in certain spots. Bah.
I played the X-box 360 one through to completion. With all characters
It was just really uninspired. The only thing to look forward to was getting stealth kills.
There were some cool ideas in there, hopefully we get that sense of dread I saw in the trailers. The lighting seemed good, I wish they would introduce some more interesting xenomorphs into the mix. Maybe get a dog alien, those swimming ones in....Alien Resurection:confused
I do agree that the extra alien types get kind of tedious, although I can sort of see a "Royal Guard" type in Aliens (don't they seem to have bigger crowns or something?). But yeah, keep it simple. And it'd be nice if for ONCE you get to play in a squad that isn't instantly all killed off.
I disagree. Huggers, drones, one queen... That's all you need for a decent game. There hasn't been a "New" type of alien in one of these games yet that I thought was needed. Just my opinion.

Anyone remember the game ALIENS:Online? It was online only. You could play as a marine or alien in multi player against each other. The graphics were horrid but I always thought the team aspect was well done. You went in as a fireteam of 4 marines and tried to work together to wipe out the map of aliens and the Queen that was setting up a nest somewhere. What was different about it though was that you had 3 little HUD screens like the ones Gorman used in the APC in the movie so you could see what your teammates were seeing and where they were etc. I was surprised that feature never made it into another Aliens game I have played since.
Well, at least for single player, that's probably because every game has always devolved into "You against the world." No need for HUDs therefore.
Personally, I always thought it'd be awesome to make a class-based Colonial Marines vs. Aliens game, although nowadays I think it'd make more sense to do a class-based co-op game a la Left 4 Dead. Hell, you could do a mod for that easily enough, I expect. Just make the zombies into Aliens, and you've got an AMAZING game in the making.
