bump for any updates................

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 33rd update, page 15 **

Yeah come on Wasili, we want to see a hull casting.

TBH, i thought it was the hull casting that was going to be shown and not the scratch built master again, as it was before xmas when you were "prepping it for molding".

Is it in silicone yet? I can't wait to see what the casting looks like.

Keith.

Taking Wasili for a big brand factory

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand what you mean, but, even if I don't know this board as long as you, I also completely understand people passionate by what they're doing and the actual time they can allow for their passion, besides of their work, their family.

I really think Wasili do the maximum he can in this project, and I just think that asking forever "is it done yet? is it done yet? is it done yet? dad, are we there yet?" dosen't help.
Just my opinion.

if you had money sunk into this project then I would hazard a guess that you might just have a different opinion.

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 33rd update, page 15 **

I got my money back for mine, as i needed it to pay a huge tax bill i was hit with just before xmas.
Wasili said i can still keep the same spot on the list and send payment again when the kit is ready. Which i think is only fair, as he did have the money i sent him for almost a year.

I just want to see the kit finished because i think its a cool kit and i am looking forward to buying one.

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 33rd update, page 15 **

Seriously? YOu guys sent him money after the Landspeeder vaporware project debacle? Why do you guys keep giving people multi-year LOANS?

:confused

Why do you guys pre-pay for something that is still THEORETICAL, for all intents and purposes?

:lol

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 33rd update, page 15 **

Hey guys,

I thought it obvious i'm still working on the project, and have shown progress on a regular basis. Sure it has been a long wait so far, sure there could have been more updates, but the current daily workload that pays my bills doesn't allow that. I'm spending all available hours i can on the APC's.

To compare it with vaporware isn't fair and i feel it's only to stir the fire. As i said it before, the Landspeeder project 5 years ago was a debacle, and i knew i was going to be reminded about it for a long long time.

Pulling up expected deadlines from a year old post isn't relevant either when i made it clear afterwards that i didn't made it, and practically rebuild the damn thing twice. I am now hesitant to post a delivery date, although i have one in mind.

Regardless, anyone is open to post how they feel, this is the internet after all. I may not like it, but there you go.

I'll have a next update in the first week of april.

Cheers,

Wasili

And that is why you never put a hard delivery date on kits. And NEVER, I say NEVER take pre-order money. When you do the project is no longer yours but that of the buyers.

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 33rd update, page 15 **

Exactly. Don't take a DIME until you're ready to ship. Heck, I am selling decals next week (from what I've been told, that is when they arrive). But what if they're late? What if they're terrible and I can't sell them? I haven't taken a single penny from anyone, and it cost me $640 to get them professionally printed.

So yeah - decals, of all things, have cost me over $600. But I front that money because I don't want to be beholden to anyone. Do you know how relaxing that is? It's an amazing feeling.

It distills down to this: Don't do a project that you cannot privately fund.

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 33rd update, page 15 **

I have to admit to you guys that the two of you are absolutely right. In hindsight this might have been the best for the APC's.

And yes, the freedom that comes with the no strings attached situation would be welcome. Nonetheless the work continues. And it's still fun to do.

Thanx.

Wasili

Nobody forced anyone to pre-pay.

Keith.

Pretty funny to hear you talking about manners. Especially when we see how you harass Wasili in this thread.

But don't get me wrong, I don't want to start a fight. I just had the feeling, while reading your posts, that you were talking to Wasili as he was some sort of subordinate, just here to do the work. But maybe I've misread your comments, and I would be sorry for that.

I'm new here, right, but I already love this community. I see so much beautiful work here, and so much passion that I feel like being at home. Keep up the great work, Wasili. ;)

Thats because i wanted to see it a lot and up until xmas, i had a lot of my money sunk into this project.
And most of the times i've asked, the hull was finished, so it was just a case of taking a quick photo, not asking wasili to do work on it.
