Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** **

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - 28 1/4" long ** 23rd update, page 6 **

Thanx Richard, Yellowjacket !!!

Next set of parts.

Here are all the production parts (castings, machined styrene, rod (for the two hinges) and etched meshes) that make up the service engine panel on the left side. Simple panel, yet still 23 parts in this. I have a tendency to dust my etchings with grey primer, so here the two meshes are indeed grey. All parts are in stock for the entire run.

They are tiny and difficult to make out in this pic, but the little box just below the right shadow box contains a dial. The dial itself is a seperate part, as is the 'chrome' ring. If you want to spray the ring, instead of paintbrush it, this takes out the masking step.

And here is the finished panel. Shadowboxes are still loose and unpainted, but when painted, the fan and box are hardly visible, and way more subtle than this. Sorry for heavy lensdistortion. All is deadon straight.

More on wednesday.

Cheers,

Wasili

HI.
This is my first time in this forum, simply because I was in contact with Ian Lawrence about is UPC build in 2009. I felt that this was one interesting and extremly good build - specially because he manage to do the interior with lights and everything. I asked him if he could do a production for me of parts so I could build meself an APC, this is no longer possible he told me and recommended this forum and contact Mister Wasili, so here I am.

Now - First of all, my question is if it will be possible in the future to purchase a complete parts set ? and second - will you build the interior also?

Dear sir - It would be an honer to be able to build this and also complete the replica with as many details as possible.
I did some Aliens figurines and Predators figurines in the 90's and would like to pick it up again... building a 1:1 scale would also be interesting. Complete with a base, Xenomrph "attack" and marines etc.. It would be a large project and will take some time... but what an interesting project it will/would be.

Oneminde

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 25th update, page 9 **

Heya folks,

Thanx for the kind words.

mr. Oneminde, i only produce parts for kits of the exterior of the APC. The interior of the APC is a completely different story, as such that the interior set would never fit into the real vehicle. A lot of compromising needs to be done to make it fit. At this point i have no plans to make an interior kit, but am open for any commissions, one-offs and such.:angel

Anyway, onwards.

Production parts for the rear end. In total 22 parts. Castings done for 12 sets, all machined parts and etchings in stock for the entire run.

And here it is put together. The kit includes a glue guide for the steps in the ladder.

The quality and detail of this is absolute insanity.
How much are you planning on selling these for??

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 26th update, page 9 **

Two questions for Wasili;

Where do you source your chemiboard/modeling board?
Do you have a favorite hobby supplier in general?

Outstanding work by the way, the APC is flawless.

Re: Aliens APC - 1/12 - ** 26th update, page 9 **

Thanx guys. As i might have mentioned before, i suffer from Chronic Accuracy Disorder.

Oh, and Percivale1969, i get my modelboard locally here in the Netherlands from a company called Viba. There are slight differences in quality, with the best being Cibatool or Prolab by Axson/Fatol. But they charge me 70 euro delivery within Holland, for one slab. With the slab costing me about 125 euro. Viba charges 15 euro for that. The stuff is nearly all the same.

Next pics update either tomorrow evening or wed eve, depending if i'm home late tomorrow or not.

Keep rocking.

Cheers,

Wasili
