To get rid of the visible seam line on the front of the skull on the smooth part is to basically grind it away - making an V-shaped indention into the skull and then fill it, as you'll never get rid of it completely just by sanding it down.

Really is top notch work.

Well, putty wont dry on the seam line for some magical reason. I apply it, some dries, some never does and can be scraped off with your fingernail for no reason I can think of. A heat gun will dry it for a while then it re-moistens.

Uncured/bad resin that is exuding oil will prevent paint/putty from drying.

Aliens from this film had lips, brass wire bent to the shape of the face and covered in condoms. You can see the gold color of the brass show through the condoms in some shots.

I think Clutch nailed it. I'm almost certain your resin is weeping. It normally won't react until in is covered in primer, paint, or in your case, putty.

Wonderful. I have some new resin and an unpainted head made from it. I''ll work with that from now on. The weeping stopped after some exposure to sunlight and heat for a few days.

Any updates on the new resin?
I'd hate to get one and have my paint ruined by it weeping. I don't have access to sun and heat. Well, for at least a few months anyway.

Excellent paintjob man. Any progress on the tongue sculpt?

Dave :)

Nothing on the tongue yet, but I think I found the right tubing for the "body" of the tongue. I have been creating heads with the jaws open enough for proper fitment of the tongue though. Ive been doing tons of work on the terminator arm though. But here;s a shot of the latest head shipped out last week:)
