Alien: Covenant (Prometheus Sequel)

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

As much as I criticize Prometheus, I've watched it more than a few times...

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

SRS will def connect the dots between Prometheus, Paradise and Blade Runner2 (my prediction).

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

That's awfully fast... they'd have to be shooting right about now to make a release date like that. And last I heard, there's not even a finished script, much less any production design/set construction, etc... we knew all that was happening two years out for the last film. I call BS.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Totally made up by CineWorld. This is likely not happening at least for another three years. We might even see a Blade Runner sequel before Paradise.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Yeah it sounds a bit overreaching

I'd rather they take the time and get a good movie than a rush job straight to video type of sequel

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Ok, just throwing this out there. If the Space Jockeys created life on Earth, then there's nothing against the idea of them creating life on other worlds in the same manner, and see what evolution brings from their DNA. Perhaps this could be a thread in the follow up??

Been a bit since I watched this - so do please correct me if I'm wrong.

But, aren't the Space Jockeys and the Engineers different races? Or are the Space Jockeys an offshoot (or ally?) of the Engineers?

Or, am I missing the connexion entirely? As I said, it's been a bit...

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Hmmmmmm, yet another writer to "beef it up". Should be interesting. Or not. Multiple Davids. Multiple choices. Multiple rewrites more like the sound of it.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Think they will fit in the predators as they are part of that "universe "?

Who is John Galt...

The Space Jockey is an Engineer. He just has his biomechanical helmet on and the chair has wrapped around him.

You can see it here:

Ah - okeh.

I want to recall the Engineer being a shade over seven feet tall, and I had thought that the Space Jockeys were larger still (as I want to recall from the original ALIEN, the Space Jockeys looked to be something like 18-20 feet tall, if upright...)

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Although I also always considered the Space Jockey in ALIEN to be a fossilized skeleton of a massive, bizzare alien race, I'm willing to roll with the Engineer concept and see where it leads.

I agree. I never imagined it being a helmet/suit, but I actually like that BECAUSE I had never thought of it that way. It gave me something completely new to think about!

Exactly right.

I read the original script. They were written to be larger to match the scale in the original Alien. There was a scene involving a dissected Space Jockey's eyeball where it was discovered they could see a greater array of light. It was described as the size of a softball. Man that would have been a cool scene!

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

I am pretty okay with this news. There was a ton to like about Prometheus. I'm saying that completely without irony; it delivered better than I expected it to. Of couse it helped that my expectations were lurking somewhere down around the Moho discontinuity...:p

The single best bit about this news may be that it has to mean Blade Runner 2 is not happening until at least 2018. :lol (Ha. Might as well aim for November, 2019.)
