Can someone give me a run down of Airsoft Pulse Rifles? What I have found is confusing. The Matrix version seams nice and some here have it, then there is a snow wolf edition that some say is better and the Matrix is cheap. I know nothing about Airsoft guns so a little help here would be appreciated.

I'm real curious how screen accurate they are and how heavy/real they feal.

Thanks

Just trying to help , but none of those comes close to being screen accurate,, the shrouds are wrong , not the same dimensions in any of the parts on those kits , I bought one and was so disappointed that they were nowhere close to what it should be , Matsuo's and the HCG is the closest thing you can get to being accurate to scale and dimensions, those are still high but they are closer than any cheaper versions could ever be......sorry sir, just being honest...not trying to stir the pot per say.....its just they also are plastic and some metal parts besides the airsoft gun itself that goes inside ....they are resonable for the price range however ...its like that old saying......you get what you pay for.....just saying....:cool:thumbsup

No worries, that's the kind of info I need. Thanks

Re: Airsoft Pulse Rifles Question

Is the overall size of the airsoft accurate?

Can you be more specific about the inaccuracies? To me it looks very close, but I'm not an expert on the pulse rifle.

Thanks

Re: Airsoft Pulse Rifles Question

99.95% of the public who look at it will probably recognize it from Aliens.

0.05% of the people are us who will nit pick it to death. I'm surprised it doesn't have a C-scar to complain about.

I agree , not trying to nitpick it to death, but you know how it is ,when someone asks of accuracies on a prop:$......people have to be honest...with other members..:thumbsup

The airsoft thompson of the M1A1 is accurate on the more expensive versions of the airsoft......

Inaccuracies....are the thickness of the shrouds as well as areas are too wide on the shroud, the barrel vent, stock ,front block , even the grenade launcher is out of scale.....just all around its ,way off base for scale...I am not an expert either, but owning and building my 1st Pulse rifle and about to build a 2nd hero version PR, with all real gun parts also, I had purchased a G&P version much like the others that came out with for the airsoft guns, they are cheaply made ,but could be fun to have one to play with and chase the neighbors kids....lol......depends on your preference....I am not telling you not to buy one, just answering why it is not really accurate, so I apologize if others take me wrong ,with what I am saying , and the person to ask , that has the most knowledge on the PRs and specializes on those is Matsuo, he can tell you everything , you would want to know in every way....and I am sure he would tell you close to what I am referring too......he is the best at building these ......hope this helps.....(y)cool

Re: Airsoft Pulse Rifles Question

I got one of the matrix ones and for the money I am very happy with it. The only gripe I had with the one I received was the piece that slides back over the fake shotgun shell was installed wrong and doesn't go back far enough so the butt end of the shell is always visible. I heard from several poeple on here who had the same trouble and many of them fixed it themselves by taking it apart. I have not been that daring yet. LOL. Personally, Im not a stickler for it being screen accurate and was just very happy it had a working light up counter and if I so choose I can go shoot some alien invading tin cans in the backyard with it.

Re: Airsoft Pulse Rifles Question

The Evike Pulse Rifle is not bad for the price..Good for trooping and to hanfg up on your wall.good feel to it but not a real deal detail wise. But hey..For the price you can't go wrong

Re: Airsoft Pulse Rifles Question

I have had both types of PR, I had the old G&P kit and I built one using Matsu' parts. The biggest difference that most people will spot is the rear of the shroud, above the stock. On the G&P/Matrix/Snow Wolf PR's the top rear of the shroud is squared off. On the Matsu and the HGC PR it is rounded, just like the real prop.

Look at the top rear of the Matsu shrouds here on the one I built. See how it is rounded? Pics are clickable.

Now look at the same area on the Evike Matrix PR. It's squared off.

That's the most noticeable difference between the two most common options for PR's. If you can get past that, then the other minor differences should not be a deal breaker. I have seriously considered picking up one of the Matrix kits myself.

Funniest thing said on any board ever!:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

Re: Airsoft Pulse Rifles Question

Can someone explain the difference and good and bad points about the Matsuo's and the HCG.

I know one had severe problems with all the barrels drooping. I'm sorry but that is not acceptable on an $800 prop.

Was this ever corrected?

I've been researching but so many have been so heavily modified I can't tell what is good and bad about them as they come other than the mentioned drooping barrel.

Thanks

To clarify, Matsuo's is by far better than HCG ,it is made by him and not an assembly line , like HCG, Matsuo poors alot of his heart and soul into his work, the HCG version was built in production overseas....

I just found his forum so I'm starting to go through it.. So his are custom made and none of that barrel droop nonsense???????

So short of SD Studios amazing and very expensive one (on the lotto list) Matsuo's are the ones to get??????

Can anyone give a heads up on price? He listed cost for some parts but I did not see price for the whole thing.

I thought the guns were green or OD, but many I see now are brown??????

Re: Airsoft Pulse Rifles Question

The correct color for a pulse rifle is Brown Bess.
OD is for those that are close enough.
Green not even close.

Okay. I have been a little confused as they always looked OD to me. Like the hero Pulse rifle in the first post in this thread:

So is it just lighting, etc and they all were actually Brown Bess?? Because Brown Bess seams to look very brown?????????

Re: Airsoft Pulse Rifles Question

Been going through Matsuo's site. Can't find much on price or how he builds these so far. I'm sure it's all there. Are they modified HGC or scratch, combination of, etc.

Yes, :thumbsup I am one of the lazy ones that went with Krylon OD green.

"The Paint:
Lot's of M41-A Pulse rifles are made using the original Humbrol "Bessbrown" paints. Other use an idealized OD green color, or some combination. It is my opinion, to try and paint the PR with a color that approximates the screen appearance. This color is a brownish green."

With the up going prices on parts these days, the real hero versions ( building my own ) cost me 2300.00 , and the 2nd one I am trying to get parts for, is higher due to the rarity of parts these days , an SD Studios will most likely go for 2800 to 3500 depending on who is selling , my next hero version will most likely cost me 2500.00 to build this next one, the rising cost is excessive but to hold one in your hands is priceless ( at least to me anyway )......but accuracy always comes with a high price...(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Brown Bess is the accurate Humbrol Bess brown color, OD is because of lighting, but looks nice either way, its all about what looks good to you, when it comes to your preferences with the color
