You won't find any US vendors who will ship guns without the painted orange barrels. Reason being they get their guns from Hong Kong vendors and in order to get the guns imported, the barrels have to be painted. You might find a rare instance where a person who works for a US vendor is selling items from his personal collection that is unaltered.

Your best bet is either eBay or try to find someone in Japan who will send you the gun you want if they can find it.

BTW, the only "quality" Walther P99 airsoft gun is made by Maruzen and it is currently sold out. Unless Maruzen re-releases it, good luck finding one. I'd just keep looking on eBay.

Depending on what gun you get, some have an orange tip that "unfortunately" breaks off easily ;) I'd suggest these sites:
http://www.shortyusa.com
http://www.airsoftatlanta.com
http://www.airsplat.com

shortyusa = slow expensive shipping (hit and miss with regards to quality-stick with the main names on this site.) you get what you pay for here.

airsoftatlanta = not the cheapest,

airsplat = They lie. There is no shortage of complaints about the way this site does their business

the following two sites have met nearly all of my needs check em out... compare see for youself

http://poweredgeusa.com is probably the cheapest for the p99 maruzen (free shipping xmas special)

airsoftextreme.com would be the next cheapest and have the best deals. (need to fax them a waver though)

theres a dealer of pretty high quality guns not far from where i live if you want i could get you a price and maybe we could work something out?

For the love of God do NOT buy from www.airsplat.com , they ripped me off big time and I'm still trying to sort it out.

What I did was I ordered from www.redwolfairsoft.com, and also from www.uncompany.com They are both very good.

Unfortunately, you can only get the orange tip left unpainted if you are willing to take the risks involved with breaking federal law by doing so. Trademarks are also removed, or merely covered up and revealed afterwards. The orange tip isn't really that big of a deal anyways... a little paint thinner it comes right off. I would definitely try www.uncompany.com, they put putty on the trademarks which doesn't harm them, and like I said, paint comes off easy, especially on a metal gun.

The thing about the orange tip is that it is only neccesary for transport. After it gets to you, by all means take it off, don't worry there are no laws for or against it (might depend on the state though, might wanna check). So many criminals are painting their tips orange to fool the cops, you are likely to get shot either way... if you are dumb enough to point it at a cop in the first place :p I assume you aren't :lol

Anyways, I recommend UN Company. Little bit more expensive, but very trustworthy, you actually GET what you pay for, and it gets here quick. And if you don't want a chance of your item being confiscated (small chance, but still) I highly recommend getting the painted barrel. Once again, painless to remove.

Also to note... if you upgrade to a metal slide, it will come unpainted and trademarks will be intact, so you always have that option as well.

Also ALSO to note... I have been looking for a P99 myself (Maruzen brand, it's the best for that particular gun) and they are out of stock at the moment everywhere it seems. I think we might have to wait for the next wave of them.

Great leads. Thanks. Anyone deal with DEN Trinity or Umarex? Umarex has all sorts of P99 goodness, but they don't list prices on their site.

also, I found this looking for info on the painted barrels ( its the federal law on marking replicas):

http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/lookalike/

Pretty cool resource and collection.

For what its worth, I've had ZERO problems with any of the 3 people I have listed, fast shipping, competitive pricing, and great customer service (1 gun came in with a hairline crack, I contacted them and they sent me a replacement with no questions asked - got to keep both guns)

If you don't mind spending the extra money don't worry about the orange. Just buy an aftermarket metal replacement slide. Spare slides don't have to be painted orange, plus it adds a little extra weight to the piece.

I have ordered from Den Trinity literally dozens of times and they are great. Fantastic service and super fast shipping. I've never had an issue with my airsofts clearing through customs when I ordered from them.

Umarex is the german branch of Walther, so you're getting the best P99 softair from Maruzen - I recommend the gas blowback version, which I have.

The only problem you will encounter is, that the magazine catch will wears off by time.
I'm about to order a mag catch from the real P99, since they are made of harder steel as far as I hear from those specific boards. And they have all the correct markings on the gun, from the proof sign of the german firmarms agency, the walther banner to the serial number and without orange tip.

I'm just starting to get back into Airsoft as there's very little to choose from in the Great White North :unsure ...but I did find this nice CP99 at my local LeBaron's...pretty nice for $109 CDN...mostly metal construction...nice weight. I like it.

Now if I could only find a Shoei MP 44.

I am not sure if I can help but I get a boat load of airsoft guns in at my store here in IL. I buy semi loads of returns and shelf pulls and I have about 5 pallets full of working and nonworking airsoft guns made by palco. these retail from 14.99 up to 199.99. I would sell any of these if I have models that you are looking for for less then half of retail. Like I said I dont know if that helps but let me know.

Hey just to make sure I understand you correctly, Umarex sells the Maruzen airsoft? That's what I thought but I want to be sure. I just got the Umarex USA catalog in the mail.

What I want is the best P99 aitsoft blowback out there, with threading for a silencer. The silencer that comes with the TACIII Maruzen seems too dinky, so I want to have the ability to attach a larger aftermarket can to the gun. Any more leads are appreciated, and thanks for all the advise so far.

You will need to get a threaded barrel with the threads on the outside. The threads on the Maruzen P99s are inside the barrel to give it that "Bond". Here are pictures of mine.
