Adam Syringe , help!

So i'm hoping to cosplay little sister from Bioshock but I have no idea where to start on the syringe.
I was hoping to either mould it from clay (i don't know what clay to use for this though) then paint it and use a translucent polymer clay for the bottle. My other idea was to shape it out of insulation foam (or a similar material) and then use worbla to cover it then paint it. I don't know if these are good ideas or if i should do something else, I do not want to buy specific parts to make it like i've seen in other tutorials; id like to make it from scratch.

PVC pipe, metal rod, wooden dowel or knitting needle, food jar and some plastic (disposable food containers could work), epoxy putty (Magic Sculpt, Aves, Plumbers Putty)
If you don't already have them around he house then a quick trip to the hardware and grocery store will cover just about everything.
Forgot the baby bottle nipple.

since you said you don't want to use any premade parts this video does it mostly just out of pvc pipes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t0NZri9r4s but to be honest I think ordering yourself an old gas pump will save you a ton of time, elbow grease, and money. (http://www.amazon.com/Fill-Rite-FRH...76685&sr=8-2&keywords=vintage+gas+pump+nozzle) I'll be making my own soon and posting a detailed thread on here if you're interested but I will be doing it the prebought gas pump way. best of luck!
