Accurate Superman Movie Costume COMPLETE! Pics up!!

Extensively researched from Yvonne Blake's original design and referenced from all four movies.

The basic tunic;

The belt is the most difficult part to source. The buckle pod is a resin pull from the Reeve original.

Umph - Probably - but in the meantime it has been made to measure for my tubby ass. With the rest of my collection I reckon it'll look teriffic...

How is the cape attatched?

Wow - thanks for your response guys!

The cape will eventually be attached as in the movie - with press studs on the shoulders and a long strap that ties under the armpits and round the back. It needs that much support as it is extremely heavy and the original even has backing to pad the shoulders out. I've seen the original a few times (In Planet Hollywood and suchlike) and you'd be amazed by how poorly it's thrashed together. The Belt has gaffer tape backing and buckle is attached with paper fasteners!
Mine is nearly there but needs lots of refinement. I'm most picky about the 'S' symbol - as the original was stitched into (as opposed to onto) the tunic and the red and yellow pieces hace to interlock and match perfectly. This is the biggest nightmare. Will post more pics tonite!!!!!

Yup, Reeve wore a specially made cup to avoid having his manhood move around and giving off the wrong impression

Gel- That is one freaking cool costume! It's almost impossible to tell that was a replica. You nailed the color too! Check mine out

Any sources on getting a cup?
Reeve wore metal codpieces but I'd prefer to go the plastic route. I already bought a jockstrap type thingy but the problem is everything like buttons etc. show straight through the lycra. It needs to be shaped trunks with a cup built in.
Any suggestions guys?

I have the Book on the "Making of Superman the Movie" and I know they mentioned the different cups they used.

I'll dig it out and let you know.

I know in interviews Margot Kidder kept flicking the Codpieces with her finger just for fun, Christopher Reeve Didn't find it as funny!
