loving your signature buddy! :thumbsupTrust me... there is enough of that as it is... it just isn't as public most of the time but it is just as bad...
That's a lot of dancing around the issue of him NOT having the molds that you believed he had. All of the photo "evidence" you posted only served to prove the point to me, and others, that his stuff was not original. For example, every ear comparison you did showed all of the SDS stuff was a far cry from original.Well for me it was a matter of examining the helmets and seeing if there was something that might suggest he had the original molds...it wasn't about liking the guy or trusting him. But honestly, what odds were there that he was lying? The guy who fabricated the original costumes...??? Well he did lie and if a crew member from ANH who made such recognizable costumes could do that, who can we trust? In the back of my mind I always thought what if someone else from the crew came along and offered to make props for us (I'm sure names come to mind)? He or she would read what was happening to AA here (by that I mean long before the complaint by LFL) and we'd never hear from any crew member ever again because of the behavior of some on this forum. It had nothing to do with liking AA or cheering him on. But many here had something personal against AA and it really came through in their posts. The forum was presented with a unique opportunity to give feedback on the products being developed by a former ANH crew member (albeit not under contract or license). People here weren't saying we must not contribute to this unlicensed dealer, or it's unethical, they said "bring it on" "let's see more". Then the complaint came out and people were saying "oh he had it coming" and "oh LFL is going to fry his butt over a skittle and then invert his epidermis and set it out to dry"....and the fanmade helmet/armor makers became very quiet then because if it was happening to AA, it could happen to them. Even recently there's been talk that once LFL is finished with AA, LFL will pursue the other known unlicensed helmet/armor makers. Rumor? Well it's all lot of drama if you ask me. All I was interested in was whether he had original molds or not and whether the helmets reflected that, not whether he's an upstanding guy because who can tell? Just because I had hopes he had original molds didn't mean I believed everything he said. Even with what we know now, and how he might have used the clay sculpts, the question is still on my mind what kind of molds does he have and where did they come from? Where are all the other helmets coming from? Just because I want to know doesn't mean I believe he has them....he might but as I've said 4 billion times...we don't know for sure if he does or if he doesn't...that's a simple objective view.

Are you posting hearsay about the other people's involvement with Ainsworth or actual fact? I think people wanted to see him skewered on a spit and slow roasted because he brought unnecessary attention to the hobby with his blind arrogance. I've said it before, if he would have just said "Hey, I'm the guy who was solely responsible for the assembly of these pieces" and stayed his dumb self underground, he probably would have a lot more respect. He would not have been able to dupe people into thinking he had the original molds, but he would have had the point of being the key assembler involved.
It's just funny to me how some of his supporters now say "Oh, I didn't like the guy or not" when I remember threads where it was discussed how likeable the guy was to speak with.

It would be interesting to see the original posts from 2 years ago when this whole thing started.
I am trying to be nice, but that was funny right there. Most of them still exist here, just look at the "edited" date![]()
Short synopsis is this: Andrew Ainsworth claimed to be the sole creator of the stormtrooper as we know him today. He also claimed that the helmets he was selling through Shepperton Design Studios were all crafted from original molds, which he was the sole sculptor of. He thumbed his nose when LFL sent him a Cease and Desist order. LFL then took him to court in the states. Ainsworth defaulted on the case, the judge here awarded LFL a settlement. Ainsworth basically wanted to bring the case to the UK, where he thought he could win. He did not win. We are now all waiting to hear how far over the coals Ainsworth will be raked. To date, I have no idea what people are arguing about on this subject.

When was the verdict given ? did i miss it ?
The case ended last tuesday i believe and the judge will be deliberating for 2-3 weeks so stay tuned for his verdict....
That's exactly what i thought, I was confused when Qui said he had lost the case.
I took it as one. If that is the only part of my super fast synopsis that you take umbrage with, Def, then I did well.*pats himself on the back and sprains his shoulder* OuchI believe it's more of a forgone conclusion at this point...

I have better pictures of those stormtrooper robots in one of my son's books. I just assumed those were created after Star Wars. Are they pre-Star Wars!!??
I think we've already dismissed that tidbit about the robots being pre-SW.Yes, indeed they are.
As well as the design for the Tim Burton first model Batmobile. The one that Michael Keaton drove was designed directly off of one of the "Speedy Wheels" series plastic toy cars available as a cereal premium toy from Rice Honeys Cereal back in the late 1960's or early 1970's.
But the whole toy robot thing really makes me laugh. Especially when you consider that one of the specifics of the "Star Wars versus Battlestar Galactica" court case (which WAS won by Universal Studios, BTW) was the HAIRSTYLES of Galactica being too similar to the hairstyles in Star Wars!
I guess it all just comes down to how litigious you want to be in the end. If you go around suing everybody for everything, you're bound to have the courts put you in your place sooner or later. But the legal profession is a paranoiac one anyway...

Sorry the image you posted is a bootleg toy produced in the late 70's after the release of SW...
