AA case begins

I'd like you to answer one question, if you can then. If most people knew they were not getting a screen accurate helmet, why were so many out defending the helmet as indeed being screen accurate? If you look back, you will find far more people had jumped on the screen accuracy tack than did not.

I already did answer that twice " or were aware of the concerns of others "
a con is only a con if someone is unaware.
I don't believe there were many that believed AA's products were completely screen accurate, the majority of people knew they weren't and the rest were aware that others had pointed out that they weren't.
Those that believed the sales patter rather than their own eyes were few and far between.

If you say so.

I don't buy that at all.
What about the people that saw ads in Empire magazine and decided to buy something for their husband or boyfriend?
Empire magazine has the largest circulation for it's type in the UK plus he advertised in quite a few other places didn't he?
Very few are as anal as we are about this stuff. There were still a load of people here that believed his spiel too.
Don't you remember the dozens of threads arguing that AA's claims were true?

Even if MR are economic with the truth they still don't have a patch on AA - so much so there's no comparison;

He took credit for designing and sculpting the armour, helmet and all the vac formed helmets.
He stole credit from Liz Moore, Brian Muir, Ralph MQuarrie and John Mollo.
He claimed he had the original moulds.
He claimed his helmets were facsimiles of the originals.
He recast parts from GF and TE.
He recast the MR stand.

What's it going to take for you to admit that AA is a con man and manipulator? Does he have do your family out of money or something?

I really think you're being contrary for the hell of it.
Next thing you'll be saying hero stormtrooper lenses weren't green...

I've never said that AA wasn't a liar have I ?
So then so far the criteria for being a bad guy is.

No license - look around how much unlicenced stuff do you see.

Quantity of lies - 1 or 2 seems ok as long as not in breach of first criteria on list.

Subject of lies - As long as you only lie about certain things you're fine.

Am I contrary ? yeah quite possibly, but not for the hell of it i'm just trying to figure out what makes AA different from anyone else.

As for the hero trooper lenses nobody can say for certain they were green as nobody has seen an original set. An opinion is fine but it's only an opinion it isn't fact and from the evidence available at the moment an opinion is all there is.
Hopefully Mverta can recreate his superb analyisis with those as he has been doing with the Vader lenses.
I'll say it again even though i've said it a number of times in the trooper lense thread, My argument isn't that the lenses weren't green my argument was that they have not been proven as green, it's speculation and opinion regardless of some individuals stating it as fact with questionable evidence.

And many people bought the helmets, even realizing that the information about them might not be 100% accurate, and liked them very much but were told they were idiots and stupid for buying them and to go away.

Hmmm..most people that liked them for what they were and knew what they were buying weren't told they were stupid. Only a few who were connected with AA or those that showed grainy out of focus endless photo comparisons were, get your facts straight":lol

When people said they liked the helmets they were told they were clearly blind, stupid, or didn't know what they were talking about. Or everyone that enjoyed what they had was a shill for AA or just too stupid to know anything about Trooper helmets.

Again see above, only those that argued there was nothing wrong were considered stupid, and you know what, looks like that was a fair assessment.

Most of the AA detractors were happy to jump on the anti-AA bandwagon because they were friends with CRProps/Gino/TE and this was a perfect way to attack someone they have already vilified.

This statement shows you must have never followed from the beginning, as most of the attacks came from the AA camp first for questioning his holy highness AA about his supposed original mint molds.

It seemed to many of the purchasers that the anti-AA blacklash was so stifling and blind to the OBVIOUS similarities that they all had to be in it for the monetary reasons and the fact that AA blew off their friends after trying to cut a deal with AA which conflicted with their ability to accept those similarities. In a few instances this was the truth or it was a case of the above paragraph.

Well since the SIMILARITIES were never the issue how can one be blind to them?? So everyone that complained was friends with all the trooper makers......:lol That has to be the funniest things Ive read in a long time. Still using that deflective weak argument to support a con man, bravo.

I have the entire first thread from 4 years ago, maybe I should post it and show how wrong your version of the past is.

I suppose the then pro-AA camp wouldn't like that though, it could get embarrasing.

Thanks for proving my point on all counts, nothing more needs to be said. :lol

I don't think my contribution matters in the grand scheme of things, but one of my frustrations took place at Celebration 4 when I tried to explain to my friend from Poland that his AA suit wasn't from original molds, and his helmet was not the end-all. He strongly disagreed and told me that every part of his costume matched the screen used originals exactly. I think there are many people worldwide who believe those lies. I could not convince him of it. He was adamant that his suit was 100% true to the screen suits.

...see (to my earlier comment), as soon as he became that defensive and irrational about a stormtrooper suit, you should've known it was abnormally personal; to him, you're basically insulting the size of his penis at that point. It's not about the suit anymore, so you just duck out. You just nod and walk away. Give 'em the big thumbs up and bail or move along. We should do that a lot more on this forum.

Yeah Mike, I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I was just trying to explain what I knew to be true. In the end it didn't matter and I just let it go. The language barrier alone was enough to really cause confusion, so any argument would have easily caused more trouble than it was worth.
The entire disagreement lasted for about two minutes. I didn't push the subject or show him comparions.

I was in Lutton last month and was waiting for passengers. I grabbed the local paper and read the latest on the AA case. I started to share the article with the the rest of the crew and I noticed the 'and we care why....." look.

:lol That's pretty much the attitude of everyone outside of this thread!

To be fair, that isn't true. It's pretty much the attitude of everyone outside of the replica prop community. We are the uber geeks who folks point at and laugh as they wear their signed LeBron James jerseys.
