Hi everybody,

As I said in my little presentation, IÂ’m going to realyse a rotj Vader costume, I decide to create this post to have advice about it and discuss with you.

IÂ’have alreay somes pieces, the Helmet and the shin guard.
IÂ’m satisfied by my helmet, unfortunately I buy the shin guard on eBay and the quality is really poor. So I plot to change it by another version, probably a GT version.

There are some pictures of my Helmet.

I have found all the soft part, and IÂ’m waiting now for the tailoring.
Only the cod seems to me not perfect and I want to find a better one. I have seen the version by TMP which is really beautiful.

IÂ’m waiting my chest box and the belt, all is paid and order Â… I must waiting to the delivery now.

For the armour, I have decide to take a GT 2006 armour, I know there is another version are more movie accurate but I’m really stronger and I ‘m affraid this version don’t fit me well.

I must now find a lightsaber Â… and I have no idea about where I can find a good one.

And finaly the boot Â… IÂ’m searching boots for my size and my calf.

Thanks for all, and glad to be on this forum.

Nice start.

For a lightsaber you can do the obvious and buy an MR one or you could get a replica Graflex (ROTJ) and search the board for advice on where to buy an upgrade set.

BTW, that horse shoe that hangs in the back of the first pic has got to be turned upwards, otherwise all the luck will fall out ;)

GT 2006 armor isn't bad it's pretty big its off by a few inchs from movie size if i remember right so you should be fine with it. ;)

I think so, now by the Belgian Garison I had the opportunity to try an old GT and it were very too small, that's the reason why I'm searching a bigger version.

What such a coincidence, I've just received my chest box and the belt.
I must now attach the chest box with leather belt, nobody has the correct width for it ?

I have receive new parts for my costume, so I decide to post them for having opinion.

Next step :

- Fix the buckle at the belt, and wear it more upper.
- Fix the chestbox.
- Find boots for my size and attach the shins.
- Find a saber for wearing in the belt.
- Perhaps change the cod for anoter more accurate, I had an opportunity from KevVader but I'm affraid there is now too late ... and TMP don't reply me.
- Wait the armour (which is still being made).
- Change the metal chain by the correct one.
- Lose weight.

Congrats, your one of the few people that actually can have the mask fit PERFECTLY above the shoulders. Usually the dome sits too high, and you see all kinds of daylight just above the shoulders. But you did great. :thumbsup :)

The seller was 502smallblock, after my purchase, I have notice a post about him on the forum, unfortunately at this time the registration was close and I don't have any account.

The wasn't really expensive, so it's not really important. I will find another one.

Doing great so far. Good luck on your future purchases. I believe you will make a great Vader. You certainly got the posture right. :thumbsup

EBay seller TK510 makes excellent shins. I own a set as do many others here on the RPF and I have yet to hear a bad word about his stuff.

I just got a set of TK510 shins myself and they are perfect, I love them. I don't know who he is, but he's friends with Darth Will so thats good enough for me anyday.

For your first Vader that is a terrific start and definitely have the right "presence"....once you have screen-sized chest armor on you'll see that you won't need to lose weight ;).

Looks great, your first Vader, my great respect to you. What kind of undersuit is it ? From Mr. Alvarez ?

PM me if you still need a buckle,

Thank you very much.

For the suit, this is correct, it is a suit from Alvarez, I'm really happy about this suit, really great one.
For the buckle I'm waiting for it, but thank you for your proposal.

To the shins: I also use the TK510 shin´s and they fit me very well...
