Every announcement and visual from Blomkamp's take feels like a Cameron fan-film.
Personally I don't feel that's a bad thing. I *love* the idea of doing more with Hicks, Newt, and Weyland-Yutani.

And I appreciate A3, but they need to toss it out.
You really don't need to look further then the current Alien merchandise/toys still being created to see where the interest and $ is in this franchise. It's clearly in the first two films only. The fan base is squarely there and that what they will build off of. And I appreciate A3, but they need to toss it out.
Oh, Bryancd. I could hug you right now.![]()

On another note, no matter where you fall on Alien 3 (I hate it with the white hot intensity of… oh, you know), in and of itself, an alternate take on the events after "Aliens" is not a bad idea.

A screenwriter facebook friend posted these Blomkamp quotes that do not bode well:
"The problem with me is I get so caught up in concepts and ideas."
"I’m lucky in the sense that I don’t feel a lot of pressures I think other directors feel."
"A normal director is like, “*****, I’ve got this pressure because this last film did well and I hope this one lives up to it.” I don’t have that. It definitely doesn’t bother me."
"Concepts are just as interesting to me as stories are. Where, to normal people, stories are more interesting."
That's good to know, thanks for the link to the source!Wow..reading those partial quotes definitely gives us the wrong message and now I am guessing more are circulating them without any context.
