A L I E N FIVE Neill Blomkamp's ALIEN movie

I always kinda thought maybe the acid blood was more "potent" as a facehugger since it is more vulnerable than a full grown Alien....but maybe that's just me:popcorn

Two decks, a set of oxygen tanks and a boot (or it may have been a pair of boots. I can't remember clearly right now).

One very stylish boot.

I don't think David Fincher or Joss Whedon will raise any objections. :)

That's what I said too, haha. (Except I didn't mention Whedon, but Jeunet since he was the director and didn't seem to even really want the job in the first place.)

As I also said earlier, I'm totally happy if they go and do a Bobby Ewing. Maybe they can even bring back Henn.

I have liked NB's movies so far but I think it's going to be hard for this not to suck. They've already dragged it through the mud enough. Bringing Ripley back doesn't help. That was part of the mistakes of 3 & especially 4.

Did it say anywhere if Michael Biehn was coming back for sure?
He came back for Colonial Marines. And since he's been very, VERY vocal about his displeasure on being killed off, this would probably be welcoming news. Time will tell though.

It will be interesting to see how these developments are perceived after Chappie hits. District 9 seems to have benefited from it's highly improvised shooting style. The Elysium script was pretty awful. NB has, imho, yet to prove that he can write a decent screenplay or develop beyond his urban wasteland visual aesthetic.

So the 3rd and 4th films are going to be written off. GOOD! Bad dreams in cryo sleep! lol Malfunction of sleep chambers could explain the aging... Newts cryo chamber could be a mass of mold and goo for all I care as her's totally failed!

That's an interesting article, as it fully backs up how I feel about Blomkamp. If you read The Art of District 9, that movie was also a concept without a script. The movie was pretty much improvised by the actors and technicians around the director's concepts, and 'assembled' from acres of variations on the story in the editing room. This can also be seen in the extensive additional footage on the Blu-Ray.

Blomkamp is a very talented and likeable guy, but I feel he needs a Fran Walsh figure to translate his concepts into successful screenplays. I'm interested to see what he does with the Alien franchise, but I think the current direction he's going is flat-out awful. Retconning is pretty much the last resort of the creatively bankrupt, so I'm not really holding out much hope that this will achieve more than de-rail thefranchise even further.

However you feel about A3 and Resurrection, each of the original movies has a very different tone and director's stamp from each other. Every announcement and visual from Blomkamp's take feels like a Cameron fan-film.

I'd preferred it that they made it back to earth and this film is set 20 years later......and some other 'successful' Weyland Yutani mission brings specimens back causing an Alien Apocalypse on Earth,.....Ripley, Hicks & Newt may be our only hope,.....could there be Prometheus Engineers in the mix also?
