9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

Some people here over the years have received the 38" Super Star Destroyer model kit, SSD. I've been working with another talented sculptor to bring to you now a 9ft "SCALE" Star Destroyer Bridge model kit. All the panels are kit based parts and scaled appropraitely...

what do you mean 9foot scaled? well? it means that if the rest of this Star Destroyer was to be built underneath this bridge, that the Star Destroyer would end up being 9 feet long, so in that scale...the bridge itself is about 24 inches across, and the deflector shield balls on top, about the size of Baseballs..so its very large, massive and ultra detailed. One of the best things about this kit, is that the panels are flat, so when you assemble, you can easily drill small holes into this bridge and add Fiber Optic lighting much easier since this is not a solid model. It will come with a display stand, and as a bonus, the scaled Falcon to hug onto the back, just like in ESB.

These are nearly done...and only going to make a few sets...if your interested, please sound off here or PM me or email me at triomirett@gmail.com

here are pics of some of the MASTER parts...more pics coming this weekend.

yes, the detail is that good. This bridge model is very large and looks great sitting on a stand lit up on your desk or in your model collection

this photo I think might be of the screen used model / prop...I added it so one can see what a BRIDGE would look like...

Holy smokes, that's a huge prop! It's too bad I don't have the space to display a prop like that. I would love to see this assembled and set up.

Re: 9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

OMFG, you chop up a Millennium Falcon for parts? That's sacreligious.

Looks good.

Re: 9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

Cool! :love

What's something like this going to run? $$$$$$?

Re: 9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

That's a pretty cool idea. Interest would depend on price of course.

No, it's not the studio model.

You gotta hand it to Julien! That's an awfully good model, though - I wouldn't have been able to tell it from the real deal.
Korbanth, that's some impressive stuff you got there.

Re: 9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

I dont know what model it is (enhanced Cooper or Anigrand ?), but yeah the details are well reproduced !

Re: 9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

So are you using real kit parts on the masters? Or sculpting them? As the studio model was 8 feet, seems there wouldn't be actual accurate kit parts for a 9 foot scale ship. Just making sure I understand what it is. I would certainly be insterested if it was studio scale at 8 feet and studio accurate.

Re: 9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

Awesome indeed, but whatever happened to the planned 6' SSD Executor, or have I missed another thread somewhere?

That's something I dont understand either, making a 8ft SD Bridge would have been more or less the same size and they would have been able to use the original kitparts. Here, the overall look looks more like big bridge they built than the 8 footer ISD bridge.

Re: 9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

I think this is why its in the "General section" guys. Its not studio scale, looks like guys having a lot of fun, with a studio "size" bridge, or thereabouts and using whatever kit parts, come to hand and look to to them.
Its called, having some fun i think?

Re: 9ft scale Star Destroyer Bridge model kit interest

Actually, the Star Destroyer in Star Wars is much different than the one in ESB. If you look in the Chronicles Book at the different Star Destroyers built at different scales, and look at just the Bridge models that were made for extreme close-ups (also at different scales - like 4 feet across, 12 feet across etc) all of those models do not match detail for detail at all. And I'm pretty sure the Lucas approved books established that the ships are different / unique - basic design is the same for Star Destroyers, but details are different based on the specific mission designed for the ship... And this will freak you out - check the 2 back to back scenes in ESB where the Falcon is sitting on the back of the SD Bridge - The first shot is a close-up, very next shot is farther away where you can see much more of the Star Destroyer - 1 huge 12 foot + Bridge model was used for the close-up and the 8' model for the 'full-shot', and both Bridges are very different and it's supposed to be the same ship! If you have the Chronicles Book, start checking the various Bridges detail for detail, they are all uniquely different in detail... Ralphee above has it right - it's not posted in Studio Scale, so it's just a guy having fun with his 'version' of a Star Destroyer Bridge.

Well to be "accurate" they built a SD bridge specifically FOR that shot in ESB... So this bad boy should be a replica of that if you wanted to get nit-picky... :D

The thread never advertises it as that specific Star Destroyer, it just says you get a Falcon with it - can't be nit-picky if the parameters don't apply - My point is don't get hung up on any part of a Star Destroyer having to match the 8' model in detail, it doesn't - especially when the model shop that made all the various models never did...

Yeah we all know that, starwarsdoc wanted some clarification about it, that's all.
