3D printer for making models

Oh, and as far as software for creating the models, I had been using Alibre and DAZ Hexagon. I haven't had anything printed, so I haven't had to deal with a slicer yet.

Spotted the thread and wanted to throw in a couple of cents.....3D printing is an absolutely fascinating area...but, speaking as someone involved as a freelancer in the world of modelmaking....It is also a career killer. I have known those who have been involved with companies for years get the push, purely because that company have gone hi-tech and have no need for the human skills when the mechanised version does it all in a fraction of the time....sure, you'll need hands to do the clean-up, but you won't need as many people to achieve the end result; Gonna be a lot of people dumped as time goes on, I think.......But, on the happy side of things: If you can afford one of these toys to build cool stuff for yourself - go for it! They are rather neat!
