32 inch ESB Millennium Falcon

no I amtalking the 32 incher
I was trying to determin if there is an equivalent in a smaller scale or if it was scratched

thanks

There is a scale that matches...but there is no detail in the part.

The part was scratch built for the 32.

ok ok I get it I was trying to save myself the time but the majority answer is scratched

thanks tuff luck sucks to be me

take care

This is what Im currently working on. Just toooooooooo many of the tiny squares.
Yes I know, I should build lights in it, just like Tim's but this will do for now. I can always do that.

Hi Guys

I want to ask a question it's about the paint job on the Bird. As many of you probably have guessed already will I soon start painting the model, but Im not sure about the right base color. As far I can remember was the ILM model light gray with a yellowish shine over it. But the yellow shine can have been made by the ligths in the exhibitin room.
I have head that they used Humbrol paints but im not sure. Somebody told me they could have used another brand or mixed it them selves - what do you guys thinks?

Moes1

I agree with Tim Ketzer's description of the color of the falcon. I compared reference photos to his color scheme and it's the most accurate so far.

Moe,ILM also used Floquil enamel paints. As far as matching the color...I go from the pictures in the Star Wars Chronicals, stay away from the "studio still shots" the color can be manipulated by lighting as you well know.I'm not sure of the "exact color".....I'd make it my best guess by comparing to photos, try some of the pictures for the Star Wars to Indiana Jones book as well.Youve done beautiful work Moe,I am envious.....I have'nt had the time to sink into my Falcon.....things are too chaotic here for me right now,Good luck, and keep the pictures comming-John

does anyone know the link to post pics here in the forum? I had it and lost the link when my computer crashed?

Hey folks,

I haven't posted in a while, been a bit busy at work. I have been continuing to research and collect kits however, as well as work on my plans. I just got an Entex 935 off ebay and have the coveted transmission parts in my hands. I was pleasantly surprised to find a few other mandible sidewall parts. I was half expecting to pay a fortune for just 2 parts.

Anyway, the transmission parts and the other mandible parts were easy to spot, but there is a part under the cockpit on the bottom surface of the mandible that looks like it may be a part from the entex as well, but I only have 2 photos of that area and the angle is a bit oblique. Can anyone confirm there is an entex part in that area?

Thanks
Bill

email me with a more detailed explanation of the area in question I probably have some pics that will help
any thought of offering castings to others of the tranny parts???????????

good find they are far and few inbetween

Hey boatbuilder,

yes I have thought about making casts of the transmission parts for others that might want them. Before I found the kit on ebay I had a guy who was supposed to make me castings, but it fell through. So I understand how frustrating it is to try and get these parts without resorting to scratching them like Tim Ketzer. Like many of us time is the issue for me. But I will be casting these for myself so when I get to that point I will let folks here know. I'm hoping the holidays will give me a little time to indulge this project.

Bill

thanks much appreciated I fabricated (scratched some myself but would be much happyer with casts since I can't afford a divorce for buying a kit that pricy

I know what you mean I only get satyrdays and maybe a sunday to work in the shop for my own projects

take care and happy turkey day to everyone a bit early but its going to be a very busy week for my
shipping and receiving at toys r us is a hectic job this time of year
